Sounds like the terrible has already happened. Green would only have to outscore 2 guys being guarded by Cotton to come out ahead. If he can't do that, I'm not sure what his role is on this team.
I would never bet against the Shockers but any sports bettor reading Shockernet has a scoop on the sports bet. I doubt the line has adjusted much yet (and certainly not late last night as the rumor broke hear). WSU -6 is looking real positive expected value. Not saying we lose, just that -6 is a big line.
Have to amend my earlier prediction of a 70-65 win. I was already concerned about our frontline in its first big
test and the five point prediction ended up being in line with the real line, however, if Baker can't go that wipes
out that line for me entirely. Even if Wiggins has a good offensive game he can't replace Baker's on court
presence, defense, intensity, etc. Wessel can provide defense but lacks offensively. Unless Early or someone
else has a breakout day I'm saying we lose by close to the same score. More importantly though, I hope Baker's
sprain is a minor one and he can return 100% soon.
Those already jumping off the bandwagon missed what happened last year. We don't drop off. We aren't Drake. 4 starters will PLAY ANGRY that their brother isn't there with them, and someone else steps UP.
We come out of the gate knowing we have to play OUR game, and Tennessee VOLUNTEERS to go home EARLY, but we don't let them.
People predicting a close loss aren't "jumping off the bandwagon"--you can support the team and not always predict a win. Obviously our chances change given injuries. It's a pick-em for me now whereas I thought the Shox would win by 8-10 previously. The team better come fired up and the crowd as well.
If the post about baker having a severity sprained ankle then, depending on who steps up, if anyone steps up, a loss is a real possibility. I hope the sprain thread is just rumor.
From the Eagle: The Shockers own an equally strong reputation for rebounding, as Martin knows from his three seasons in the Missouri Valley Conference at Missouri State.
“They rebound and they have a lot of size for that level,” Martin said. “That’s how they impose their will on teams at that level. You’ve got to be physical to compete against them. If you’re not physical, it’s going to be a long night.”

What an idiot. "At that level." Oh you mean the NCAA tournament, top 25 level Ms. Martin?
@PaulS:uellentrop: 9 NBA scouts (at least) will be here. Thunder, Suns, Raptors, Hawks, Pistons, Mavs, Warriors, Clippers, T-wolves. They are among those hoping Baker plays.
