I guess they did sign a 3 and 4-star, both 6'7 forwards (ESPN grades 75 and 80). I wonder how they compare with our class of forwards: two grade-79s (Kelly, Brown) and high upside Hamilton?

I guess I have a different view of "high profile", particularly for a Big Least team. Both are listed as SFs, 6'7"/215 and 6'7"/185.

That's pretty much my thoughts, as well. If he recruits at CU like he did at Iowa St, well, we saw how that worked out. 2G McD needs to prove he can both recruit and coach talent he's not related to or didn't seek him/CU out.

Now that I think about it, Echenique transferred to CU under Altman. I guess he does get some credit for Gibbs since he recruited him while at ISU.

LOL, of course you admire them. Most sCUm fans admire their own.

Ron Baker was a very key component in the Shockers' epic stretch run that felled Gonzaga. His return was huge: http://college-basketball.si.com/201...opped-gonzaga/

The link is a repost of an article from June. But hey, anything to get this thread back on topic...

                    • @EnthusiAdams: Kentucky was preseason #1. Wichita St #18. One focuses on O other on D. One plays loose the other angry. One has All-Americans other none.

                          From ESPN http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebaske...l-of-thrillers

MVP: With Ron Baker nursing an ankle injury, Wichita State's Tekele Cotton (19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and a block) stepped up and carried the Shockers on both ends in a 70-61 victory over Tennessee.

The undefeated Shockers should be a top-10 squad. This team might be better than the one Gregg Marshall led to the Final Four last year. Why? Because the Shockers can turn to guys like Cotton when necessary. So much depth.
