Saying Marquette is a tourney team isn't much different than saying UNI is a tourney team. Sure, if they beat WSU and ISU twice, they could be a bubble team. Marquette has more top 50 chances, so if they beat CU, GT and Nova 4-5 (and don't throw in any clunkers) they could be an at large team.

But the EYE TEST tells me they BLOW.

Don't join Fever in the distaction. This was never about Marquette being a tourney team. Fever tried to pull that distraction, but this was only about Marquette being light years above the MVC's Thursday night teams.

There is a large gap between NCAA and MVC Thursday. Somewhere in that gap is probably where Marquette falls.

Do you still stand by your assessment that Marquette would be a Thursday night team in the MVC?

Fever, you refuse to have an intellectually honest conversation. Making this about the precise accuracy of computer rankings (as if anyone on here thinks a Pomeroy ranking of #48 in January automatically equals an NCAA team) was a way to sidetrack a conversation. If you want to claim that Pomeroy's rankings are terrible, fine, do it, but don't put words in my mouth to try and distract from the fact that as it stands, your eye test is completely out of whack with the computer rankings.

Guys, guys, guys, settle down! Does it matter if Marquette is a Valley team? An NCAA team? A sled dog team?

No. They are in the New Big East, not the Valley. Marquette is not on Wichita State's schedule. Marquette should not matter.

As the only poster that has seen Marquette play, I will asess them as better than Shockerfever's analysis, but not a tourney team. They are good, but not tourney good. They have great athletes that don't play well together.

The point is whether Marquette would be a play-in team in the MVC, not whether they would make it as an at-large tourney team, correct?

Because this is the internets, I vote that Marquette would not be a play-in team and would not get an at-large to the NCAA. My vote is that they host a game in the CBI. $100 says that is so (if they were in the MVC)
