Talk Angry is back for Season 8. On Episode 1, we discuss Coach Marshall’s resignation and Taylor provides insight on how the style of play for the Shockers might look different under Isaac Brown.
After a three-month investigation into allegations of physical and verbal abuse, Gregg Marshall has resigned from the Wichita State University men's basketball program with a severance of $7.75M. With only a week before the start of the season, the Shockers look to Isaac Brown as the interim leader of the program.
Episode 2 of Talk Angry was recorded just prior to the announcement that Wichita State will not be participating in the Crossover Classic but the guys still have a great breakdown of the Shocker roster and new assistant coach Billy Kennedy.
This week Dustin and Taylor dive into the roster and outlook for the Shockers during the 2020-2021 season and what to expect from Interim Head Coach Isaac Brown. After the Wichita State men's basketball team had to withdraw from the Crossover Classic due to positive COVID tests, we finally got to see the Shockers (albeit shorthanded) in action as they beat Oral Roberts and fell to Mizzou last week in Koch Arena. The competition continues to be stiff as the team will now face Oklahoma State on Saturday, but the good news is that they should be able to return many of the players that were being held out.
On this week’s show we are joined by Shocker broadcaster Shane Dennis and we get his thoughts on the young season. We also preview tonight’s conference opener at Tulsa.

We are now in the heart of the season. As long as the American Athletic Conference can keep COVID at bay, the games are coming fast and furious. Dustin and Taylor look back at the split that Wichita State had this past weekend against Houston and Cincinnati while looking ahead to key matchups against Tulsa and SMU. If the Shockers are going to make their case as a contender for the conference title, this is a good week to do it. This week Mike Kennedy, the Voice of the Shockers, joins the crew to discuss what he is seeing from this squad after 10 games.
I think Mike Kennedy nailed the issue when he said he thought the shocks could get better at closing teams out. Maybe this will come with more experience.
