Marshall's new contract just gives more ammunition to the idea that most of our MVC conference brethren are our fiscal bitches.

As of next April, 3G will now make more in personal base salary alone than the entire men's basketball budget of ISU Blue (lol), and with his incentives included likely nearly as much as essentially half of our conference.

Actually the Drake does have football. They play FCS (division 1 football) but It is not in the same conference as our other Valley brethren. The Drake plays in the Pioneer League (the same football conference as Butler, Valpo and Dayton among others). Evansville also used to play football in the Pioneer League (both Drake and UE were charter members) until the Aces dropped football in 1997.

It can't even be in the same stratosphere can it? [5 (road games of air travel per year) x 80 bodies (including coaches) x $400 per ticket (assuming retail rates)] +[5 (road games) x 40 rooms (they're livin' large) x $300 (staying at the Ritz)] = $220,000/yr for travel. Add some high class 5 course meals if you want ... $250,000.

Scholarships are in the magnitude of millions. 100 scholarships (shooting low) x $15,000 (annual tuition from their site .. doesn't include additional $4000 in room and board) = $1,500,000.
