If they would add a rectangular score/clock panel just below the main video boards, IMHO that would be perfect.

Wow! 12' by 15' = 180 sq ft compared to 7.5' by 10'= 75 sq ft. That is 140% bigger or nearly two-and-a-half times as big. Hard to even imagine.

Man!! If they would just throw some flood lights on the bottom of that sucker and trick the screen out with some flashy lights that appear to spin in a circle, we could have an epic intro:

my question is where there be a separate portion independent of the video board like in koch now that has the time, score, players, fouls/points, team fouls, etc or will it all be one entitity?

I'm just afraid if all this is competing against each other, they will take something usable and make it crap (kind of like the baseball video board upgrade - they still have not figured out how to use that effectively).

Nope, all in one screen (although the lower ring board could display that info). There shouldn't be a problem with the technology, it is just a matter of using it well.

Even if the board is broken up into scores, player info, time etc. maybe they can use the whole screen to show a replay then go back to the "score board" when play resumes?

That would be considered using the board appropriately.

HD video board, and locker room upgrades once again makes CKA a First Class facility.

Also the Video Board at IBA isn't HD if I remember correctly. Now I don't know if WSU will have the HD cameras to provide replays/highlights in HD but if they do, it's gonna be amazing.

Absolutely, that was what I was thinking too and it makes a lot of sense; that's why they won't do it that way.

My smart phone records in 1080p for poop's sake. Let me sit down at the press table and throw this bad boy on a tripod. Problem solved.

I was wondering about that. So if the new Koch Arena board is truly HD it should be even nicer than the IBA board?

Yes, it will be better quality because the cameras will be HD.

Yeah, the IBA system is a 16:9 ratio but is not HD. It can be converted, though.

It's my understanding that they have put out a bid for new HD cameras. I was at the recent Intake Studios open house recently and was talking to them about it. I also checked out the website of the company that is conducting the purchase (broker if you will) and they offer help in training and designing the new graphics and other audio and video designs. I would guess we're going to have a pretty good video and audio experience. At least I hope so...

                                Great to hear.

I'm not big on the fan experience side of thing but if we're gonna do it, might as well do it right.
