It'll be a fun problem to watch the smart people solve!
    I don't see 14 or 15 ppg getting Early as an All-American.

Yes, though, I think if Early's resume says first or second team All American plus a Final Four run, and say a Sweet 16 appearance ... that deserves a jersey in the rafters.

Quite frankly, I think we need a new one. It's great to have that respect for the past ... but the present is pretty awesome, too. You don't want to live in the past so much that you can't appreciate the present. All American seems to be the requirement, and it should stay that way. I don't see how two years should disqualify him.

    • Also, 14 or 15 points for Early next year would be a big disappointment. He averaged 13.9 points this season ... but he also averaged 3.5 less minutes per game than either Armstead or Hall at 2/3. Hell, he was #4 on the team in minutes per game. If Early keeps the same points-per-minute he had all of last season (essentially remaining the same player), if he gets bumped up to 30 minutes a game, he'd be averaging almost 17 ppg. With natural improvement from having another year in the game, and being a bigger part of the offense ... jumping that up to 20 ppg isn't that big of a stretch.

However, Toure in 2009-10 was the last Shocker to average 30+ in a season.

      • It is obvious that Marshall is priming and pushing him to have a big year. Gregg knows what that would mean for the Shocker program. That being said, Marshall is going to expect that it be done within the offense, not excessively hunting his shot and taking lots of bad ones.

        • Consider what a recently hung banner does for recruiting. It's a name they know; a guy they see playing in an NBA uniform. And he passed through Koch Arena to get there.

          • Cle was hanging with his fellow future first round draft pick Andrew Wiggins tonight at the iHop in East Wichita.

              With the current coaching staff...
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

It wasn't 15+ ppg that made it automatic, it was 15+ ppg _plus a national championship_ that makes it an easy no brainer. If he gets "only" 15 ppg and we win a national championship, then he's most likely still AA material and still the man. :)

McBurney!", and when those security bastards come haul me off, the 5 or 6 of you Shockernetters that were in ear shot can say "there goes Kung Wu." Of course I'll be screaming and flailing like a little girl trying to grab on to @pogo:'s jacket before they haul me off cuz I ain't goin' down without a fight!

If the summer of weight-room "experience" proves effective, Cle will get an additional 5-7 FTs per game, thus getting him to 20+ ppg without many additional minutes.

"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:

                            • Paul S. has been a little slower than usual this week. No news on the Gal signing or Cle on Shockwaves or the paper. I expect him to catch up over the weekend.

                              • Everyone is entitled to a vacation. Since this is a holiday weekend, maybe Paul took some time off.
