St. Louis is in the backyard for several of the MVC schools and their fans are the ones that don't come. The MVC, without Creighton's fans, will only have WSU as the cornerblock for attendance. You can't blame the Center for wanting to try to get something else in (the SEC Tournament) that will bring more money into the coffers.

We want influence, that's the way to get it.
Also, I'm assuming your comment about pro teams was regarding basketball, but it made me laugh at the Royals and Chiefs anyway.Last edited by Rlh04d; June 1, 2013, 12:14 AM.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'

As long as we're in a position to get an at-large bid and don't need a conference championship to make the tournament ...Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'

The only reason that I will continue going back to St. Louis for the Valley Tournament is because I have made too many trips where I have left the Gateway City upset. Someday, Wichita State will cut down nets at Arch Madness, and you can be damn sure that I will be there when it happens. Once I can finally experience that feeling, I'm done with that trip and will just save money for NCAA Tournament trip travel. Maybe next year will be a better experience without the onslaught of the jackhole Creighton fanbase infestation, but I am getting to the "been-there, done-that" stage with travels to St. Louis. Great city and all, but you can only see the Arch, Busch factory, etc. so many times before you start to get bored with it.78-65

I wonder if the fact that MVC basketball media day will be back and in CHICAGO this year, instead of St Louis, is a little foreshadowing.......

Creighton always traveled well to St. Louis, but they also always had a competitor who traveled in numbers almost as big (ISUr late 90s, SIU early-mid 2000s, WSU recently). This season will be the first time that one school has literally 10x more fans present than any other school. Think about that...WSU will have as many fans there are as the rest of the league combined.
The MVC is basically begging us to find a new conference. They couldn't make it any more clear that they want nothing to do with us...other than cashing our NCAA revenue checks. Life would be more harmonious for all involved if we took our business elsewhere.
Now if we could just find an adequate suitor.

Without CU anymore, we might as well have this thing at a high school somewhere. I figure 1,000-2,000WSU fans regardless of where it is and a grand total of 500 other mvc school fans.
Should about do it.
:)
Now if you move it to the sprint center, all the sudden you have 10k again. Should be obvious but it won't be.
