Arch Madness takes a major hit with the loss of the CU fans that showed up. Fans of the schools that are actually close to St. Louis don't tend to show up. The MVC Tourney isn't as attractive as it once was. WSU coming off a F4 is probbly the best thing the Valley tourney has to offer next year. If WSU is looking at another 30-win season and looking like a top-4 NCAA seed, that's going to sell some tickets. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Don't think it really has much effect or meaning regarding Arch Madness. They're on different weekends. I'm sure St. Louis would love to keep the SEC tournament long term and have Arch Madness still successful. They don't conflict, so it's only a net gain for the city's economy.
However, I'm not entirely certain that Arch Madness is going to be successful in the future. Losing Creighton's fans is a huge loss for tournament ticket sales. Gotta hope that Missouri State and Bradley improving next season drives out their fans, and WSU fans turn out stronger than ever with a reinvigorated fanbase and bandwagon fans. And, as Aargh has mentioned, WSU's name value might draw in casual St. Louis basketball fans who wouldn't otherwise be interested. The success or failure of Arch Madness is going to be entirely on the Valley teams and fanbases, though.
I'm sure most of the Illinois Valley Conference would be VERY happy to move the tournament to Chicago if St. Louis isn't interested anymore, though. At some point I'm assuming they'll find a way for us to pay for their trips to Wichita as well. Those buses use a lot of gas.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'

All the misguided loyalty to St. Louis, and it's that shithole arena that burns the MVC not the other way around. And by "burns" I mean it's great. At least from my perspective. The smart money is on the Valley office catering to the 200 fans of our new member and setting up the tournament in Chicago.

2017? Is this a message that we aren't wanted anymore? It looks like just 1 year, but still.
Thoughts?

The MVC tourney typically is held a week before the SEC tournament, so there should be no conflict should Scottrade host both events. The MVC tournament is contracted to be held in St. Louis through 2015.
