Game was moved to the 17th so it could air on ESPN. (U that is)

    • This is by far the toughest stretch of the Valley schedule:

      5-Feb @ Ind. St
      8-Feb @ UNI

Sweep those 2 games and we will win the Valley by 3 games. No reason we can't go 16-2 or 15-3 at worst. Do that and we will win the league outright by 2 or 3 games.

      • I like our chances. I like our team. I like the leadership capabilities of several of our players. I like Marshall's proven ability to build a championship team. But the reason that we may not be that good (18-0, 17-1, 16-2, etc.) is because we are talking about college kids 18-22 that make mistakes, and we never know for sure.

With the exception of @ Bradley and maybe MSU at home, the last three weeks could be a virtual coast into St. Louis.

Every game in the Valley, like most, is a battle. Nothing can be taken for granted or assumed. Every game will be a battle. A battle against teams playing above thier level. Against referee's in games above thier paygrade. And a league that thinks what is fair for everyone is best.

What is *fair* for everyone IS best. It's just that what's fair doesn't necessarily mean *even.* The league makes things unfair when they strive for even.

But that's probably what you meant.

              • Hate to be overconfident, but we should win this crappy league by no less than 3 games

                  • Touche'.

Is anyone planning to go to Tuscaloosa? I am going to make the trip up and wondered if I might encounter any other Shocker fans.

                    • I know we know the schedule and everything but why are we ALWAYS the last school to release the schedule? Every. Year.

It reflects negatively on the athletic department IMO.

                      ... No really, deuces.

Not sure about previous years but we aren't done with this year's schedule. May still be looking for a D-II opponent since the Dallas gig did not materialize and the CBE problems are probably still in flux. I have no problem waiting until the schedule is done to release it. Besides most of our schedule is, in fact, known isn't it?

                          • We can have all of the confidence we want, and we may win the league by 3 games, but we will hit snags. I guarantee it. I am the voice of reason in your over confident brain. :) The top 2-3 teams have always lost to teams that they should not have (us against Evansville last year at home is a good example that should have locked in a tie for the league title-another example is us losing to SIU at home the year we won the NIT and SIU sucked) sometime in the second half of the conference schedule.

The DII game is Emporia State. When is the deadline for figuring out the CBE mess?

Blame falls squarely on the CBE.
