Greg Marshall adds Darius Carter to next year's team, continuing the trend of recruiting the best JUCO players in the country. Oh, ya, and he's LeBron James's cousin.
"Valley-shaking, nation-waking 29-game win streak." - Paul Suellentrop, The Wichita Eagle
Why are we assuming he won't be at the celebration? Have we heard that's the case? I certainly hope and think he would be there.
That wasn't what I meant and I'm not sure where you got the idea. I was responding to someone who said it might be awkward given the timing of the announcement and meant to say that it might have been awkward for him if people didn't know so the timing made sense.

Bah, I misread your post. Sorry!

actually coach has said he never stops recruiting. I suspect that once Carter was signed, then a decision was made that somebody had to go. There still is somebody else who won't be back next year.
Coach has said he never stops recruiting, but he did say he thought they were done for this year and didn't think they'd sign anyone else. So I agree that I think Jake made the decision to finish the season but told 3G he'd leave afterward and that's probably why we landed Carter.

Its possible that one or more player signed won't be eligible and that the staff already know thats. Remember that Hawkins and the 6-10 kid signed LOIs and then went to prep school.

But Hawkins and Henry were both well known question marks from the start. Hawkins had major academic red flags which continue to this day and Henry had the whole school hopping thing that messed up his ability to get through the Clearinghouse.
Or are you talking about Watson not being eligible? I've been questioning that for awhile but there have been no reports to confirm it's an issue.
Bingo. Lots of fair speculation that he's going to need an extra semester to graduate from JUCO. That said, I have no info about the academics of our current or future players.
How would that be possible? Without delving into his flakiness, was he not a non-qualifier out of high school? One year of juco doesn't change that. He needs an associate degree I believe to enroll or compete...is that not accurate?

Doc, did you mean to say he was "not a qualifier" or he was "a non-qualifier"?
