This Final 4 run was literally great for our Program and our Community and our fan-base has expanded at a rapid pace. Our players are already speaking of getting back to work. We have quite a Recruiting Incoming Class that might knock our socks off. A double-dose of this next Season and exceeding that is, and has already been, in motion. In my wildest dreams, I was not expecting 30 wins this very Season. This is rare for me because I tend to overestimate our Shocks through the leaner Seasons in times past.

My focus is quite optimistic. Kind of like a forevershockerfan, in terms of next Season. Even so, I am trying to be realistic. Seasons like this don't even come every year for teams even like Kentucky, N.C., Louisville, or Duke.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

      Illinois State 3
      Kentucky 3
      Syracuse -2
      Villanova -9
      Georgetown -2
      Pittsburgh 3
      Notre Dame -3

Really pretty good company on that list. The other 30 teams lost to Louisville by an average of 20.97 points.
And no one but the Shocks over Louisville's 15 game winning streak.

It's better to underestimate and be happy than overestimate and be sad.

Dealing today with the After Shock of what transpired I have to admit I have no clue what would have happened if Ron had taken that shot. Maybe he misses, L-ville gets a long rebound, fast break and really gets it going. We did pick up the 4th foul on Dieng on the play.
And that is how I felt after the play "Well, we will get him out of the game at least..." but ... oh well.

Yep. I knew there would be a pocket of negativity somewhere on the internet. Of course it's KU.

Considering how much gets said by those folks about the obsession WSU fans have with KU ...

Hilarious that they're blatantly lying to try to create a Florida/FGCU thing.

Wow, what a paranoid fan base. Always looking for a reason to create a "hate that isn't there".

What a weak effort, even for the superior Northeasterners.

                  ... No really, deuces.

Two thoughts: after we beat Gonzaga, I told a friend--I am sure many of us said similar things--that "I want us to go all the way." What I meant wasn't just that we seemed we could have a chance at historic success; I also wanted to take on all the best teams to see how we stood up. Well I got my wish up until the last game and it was a pretty amazing ride.

Second, the loss hurt more for me on Sunday than it did right after, especially because we lost a pretty big lead, we had a lot of turnovers at the end, and a call or two meant it wasn't fully decided by the players. One thing that helped me a bit was remembering how much a role chance plays in basketball games that come down to a possession or two. That's why the power ratings heavily discount close wins and reward big ones. We had two close wins against Gonzaga and OSU and had some luck there--I really mean variance more than luck (5 threes in a row falling is not going to happen in many instances out of 100 given identical circumstances). So I'm really thankful that variance played out in our favor in the earlier rounds because we never would have had the chance if it didn't.
