Listening to Doug Gottlieb right now while working.

They just mentioned that 3G was scheduled to be on Gottlieb's show today, but backed out. Said that he told them that he was on another show earlier in the day, was not happy with how it went, and was done with the media for the day. Weren't really throwing 3G under the bus or anything, but you could tell they would have preferred the situation handled differently.

Marshall was supposed to be on Doug Gottlieb show 5 mins ago. Doug asked how we are coming with Gregg Marshall and assistant says, "He will not be joining us today." He had a bad national interview today and isn't coming on.

I love Marshall to death but I think that may have been the wrong move. Doug did nothing to upset Gregg. They were not given any notice either that he wasn't coming on. What does everyone else think?

Coach Marshall was scheduled to be on the Doug Gottlieb show this this hour but decided against it. The reason given that a radio interview earlier in the day did not go well and he decided not to do any more interviews today.

Not sure that was the right decision but cleary Coach Marshall is pissed about the DP interview and perhaps that was the best decision.

Has Doug Gottlieb made previous comments about 3G not being liked in the profession? Seems like he may have, but I'm not sure about that.

In any case Coach is clearly irritated to say the least with the DP interview.

The more people Gregg Marshall pisses off outside the University of Wichita the more I like him. His players love him and his fans love him, that is all that matters.

There is a line between being true to yourself, while at the same time being cognoscente of the audience and platform. In my opinion, Marshall tiptoes on that line which is a compliment to him. Other people fail miserably and are no where close to that magical line. It's a choice.

Based on what they said on the Gottlieb show that appears to be the reason.

Gottlieb was on Petro today talking about how Marshall rubd people the wrong way, and that he doesnt have a coaching 'Godfather' to get him higher jobs.
That being the reason for his tremendous chip in his shoulder (Gottlieb's words).

However, Gottlieb also said he has talked to Greg numerous times and has never had a problem with him.

Not really sure that was the right choice. I'm all for WSU just not ever acknowledging DP again, but it's not a "media" thing. Blame the guy that was a douchebag, but I don't see the purpose of blowing off people unrelated to the situation.

How would we feel if HCGM was going to be live on ESPN, and at the last second they come in and say they had a bad interview with another coach so they're done with coaches for the day? Gregg would be PISSED.

I respect him a lot and think he usually makes the right choice, so I won't second guess him too much here. But on the surface it doesn't look good.

The DB move was DP playing the clip RIGHT BEFORE bringing HCGM on and asking him "What do you think of that?"

I totally agree plus the fact that it's implied that Wichita State is nothing more than stepping stone program and any coach who would want to stay in Wichita is somehow an outcast or less than liked. It's just bad manners by Dan Patrick and his staff at best
