At a time Illinois was on fire...

Both teams played WSU. Gonzaga was clearly better.

Beating ranked teams is a worthless metric. Teams racked up wins against ranked Pitt. Pitt doesn't look like a Top 50, much less Top 25 team. If rankings are the only thing that matter to you, you have no argument because Gonzaga is ranked #1, which is higher than OhioSt. You can call it hollow or paper or whatever the crap you want to, but those rankings are created by the same voters. You can't have it both ways.

This is part of what's wrong with how teams are judged these days. At the start of every season, some 6-7-8, Big10 and BigEast teams are ranked. And then they beat up on each other all year, so hey, they all have 5-6-7 wins against the "Top 25", so they definitely "earned" their ticket to the dance.

    • I have two questions:

      1) How did U of L ever lose a game this year?

      and

      2) What is a KFC YUM! Center?

I gotcha now.. "off-season incidents".. that's the time when things don't count right?

        Misdemeanor?

The bad news keeps coming for Louisville. Days after Jerry Smith and Terrence Jennings were arrested for resisting arrest after police broke up an altercation at an alumni homecoming event, the AP reports that the two face additional charges of battery and disorderly conduct.
According to Louisville coach Rick Pitino, Jerry Smith and Terrence Jennings won’t lose any playing time after their arrests:Pitino said both players understand the severity of the situation.

“Any time you defy a police officer, it’s serious,” Pitino told ESPN.com. “They will be punished and are being punished right now. But no, they will not miss game time.”

And just to be clear, we are only talking about basketball here. Your football team seems to have significant challenges right now with regards to NCAA violations and criminal violations. How does the U of L fanbase maintain morale during challenges like these?

          • Our football has been 100% clean since 1986 and undefeated. Sadly we are no longer repersented in the NFL by Bill Parcel's and James Allen "Jumpy" Geathers.

On that note lets talk X's & O's not bullshit off the court.

I apologize, I should have said one of your coaches.

How does this news make you feel? What are your solutions?

Your an insider so I was curious as to what your feelings were on the issue. You did say we could "ask you anything"...?

Every team evolves and changes throughout the year. Louisville is not perfect, but their defense always does it's job; take the opponent out of what they want to do. Even with that, they can still be beaten, but you just have to be prepared to play differently than you normally do.

                        1) What exactly is that gesture that your cheerleaders use during games? I mean, it looks like some sexual symbol which is prevalent in today's immoral culture, but I'm sure it's just some 3 finger salute that has no relation to your school's nickname, right?

                        7. Wichita State — Seven Major Infractions: Programs from smaller conferences are just as capable of skirting the rules as the big boys. Although Wichita State doesn’t have a football program, its baseball and basketball programs have flourished. The baseball program has been one of the most successful in recent history, winning the 1989 College World Series and finishing second in 1982, 1991, and 1993. The basketball program reached the Final Four in 1965, Elite Eight in 1981 and Sweet Sixteen in 2006. Of the program’s seven infractions, perhaps the most disheartening one occurred in 1982, not long after the team had reached the Elite Eight. Violations involving the promises of cash and airline tickets resulted in the stripping of two basketball scholarships over two seasons and the program’s ban from the NCAA tournament and NIT. At the time the penalties were imposed, Wichita State led the NCAA in major infractions.

And you want to jab us for a misdemeanor arrest at a party, and an incomplete case against a coach who was at another school for the allegations (which is all they are, and it sure appears the case will be dropped considering the quality work from the NCAA)? How do you deal with these issues as a fan base?

                        • Be the bigger man, there was no need in returning the pettiness. Wichita fans are well aware of their major infraction history, I'm sure they are just as disappointed in all of them just as we are in ours.

                            1) That's a W. It's the first letter in WSU. Sexual symbol? Get your mind out of the gutter son.

                            2) A lot could be said about that. Most of the infractions were involving the football team. KU "blew the whistle" on us during that period and they were involved with just as many illegal activities. All those involved were fired.

Rick Pitino still coaches for you guys though right? What's going to happen with the assistant football coach that is currently in hot water?

Actually, it is a "W" and it's been that way long before our great society decided to try it out as a hand gesture and coin the term.

Regardless, you're getting too caught up in Cold's games. A Louisville fan already called it out as troll bait and now you're just making it official.
