WSU VERSUS OHIO STATE PREDICTIONS AND PREGAME DISCUSSIONS

Buckeye fan here... first off I have to say that I am impressed with your fan base. It is pretty rare to see fans online who show support for their team without without using crass criticisms of their opponent. I wish that I could say the same for my team, but we have our fair share of idiots.
About the game - your rebounding scares me. Our interior players (Williams 6'11 and Ravenel 6'8) are pretty limited offensively and have been so bad that we have been going small and experiencing some success. In other words, our big guys are so bad that we are better off when they are not in the game.
This year OSU has done well when facing teams whose PG's are their catalysts. Craft has amazing lateral quickness and anticipation. That said, he has not played that well in the tournament. Most likely the tourny refs do not allow as much contact as Big 10 refs do, and that has taken away some of his craftiness.
I expect this game to be close and by no means an easy one for my Buckeyes. Good luck.

it will be interesting to see the Craft/Armstead matchup. Armstead has grown this season and I think is one of the best point guards in the country right now. He doesn't get rattled by anyone and has the tendancy to put the team on his back when necessary. Nervous but excited for tonight.

Something about Baker and our success jumped off the charts as I read our paper today. It is well chronicled how Baker is a shot maker. Even last summer, we spoke often of that. We all know he plays solid D., rebounds, and even blocked a nice shot last game.
Here goes. Armstud has 12 assists in this here Dance followed by Bakers 9. We growled until the cows came home on here much this Season about the need of us to get solid entry passes to our bigs. GRRRRR!!!
Last game, right out of the gate we established Hall inside and never looked back. 3G is artful in recruiting guards that can play both positions. Sometimes when FreshVV enters the game, Armstud slides over and plays the 2 position. The interchangeability of our squad is poetry in motion. Parts is not always parts but I like what I see and it is resulting in wins. Mr. Baker is also an assist maker and we welcome that ability with open arms.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Elite 8: Last underdog
FGCU? Gone. Oregon, too. Only Wichita State remains a potential Final Four Cinderella, but Ohio State stands between the Shockers and Atlanta.

The Dance is a sight to behold. FGCU comes out swinging and had Florida rope-a-doping? But wait, it is a 40 minute game. Give them credit though because they were quite entertaining and abused teams like Georgetown.
Next enter KU. Yes, they were rebuilding but had 4 Seniors and a possible future NBA lottery pick starting. They did not play to their potential in even one game at this Dance. They lead most of this game. They only had 13 turnovers but Michigan had 10. They had 5 steals but Michigan had 7. KU was 7-10 and shot a higher % from that location but Michigan was 9-17. KU had 35 rebounds but Michigan had 38. Sometimes it is just the little things which is why I discuss this on a Shocker Prediction Thread.
Here is my point. There are no do over's and this is a single elimination Dance. Only 1 team comes out of this here Dance without losing their last game. I like our Shockers chances here in this game. Yes, the experts will pick Ohio State to beat us by 4-5 points. However, they can't measure the big hearts of our unsatisfied MTXE angry playing road warriors. Sometimes players make a big shot to win or miss an important throw to lose. Even so, it can also be the little things. Can we rebound big tonight, hit shots, play D. and hold Thomas and Craft to a mild roar? Sure we can. Stay tuned.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Except that's not what has happened. The closer we get to game time, the more I understand about each team, the more I believe this team, these coaches, this program will find a way.
I believe, no, I KNOW our guys will come out and play hard, the coaches will have a game plan of success and we'll go toe to toe with one of the best teams in the country, because here and now, Wichita State is ALSO one of the best teams in the country.
I am neither predicting nor expecting a victory, but I know at the end of the game I will have pride in this team and I will stand, cheer and cry at the result and I will celebrate this team....one way or the other.
Good luck to both teams...here's to a great college basketball game and may the best team win.
Go Shocks!
Yeah, I have lofty expectations. But I believe they are very much based on the reality of where 3G has us, and where he is taking us. I BELIEVE. Not just in a victory or a season, but in a man and a program.
GO SHOCKS!

At the Dance, several moons ago, Winthrop, coached by 3G was beat by a lucky game-ending corner shot from Tennessee, don't you see. The chickens came home to roost in Tennessee's next game because they had to be defeated by us in a way that took "lady luck" out of the equation. Likewise, there are just so many game-winning shots that one team will make as you suggest.
Tonight,3G is due some justice as our Shocker Coach after facing a Season with plenty of injured players which cost us 3 starters for a spell and players like D-Will, Chadrack, and FVV playing injured in several games this Season. However, it takes top-notch execution for any team left standing to win games that are still unplayed. We hope for the crest of our peak to continue as it did for us at the NIT at the Garden, knowing these teams we are now playing are even tougher to beat. So are we.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
