Winning this game means SN goes viral. That is exactly why I am taking the afternoon off, just in time for Game On. What a great battle this game should be. Coach 3G already was speaking of this team Dancing at a scrimmage before the Season ever started. Considering the obstacles along the way, it is inspiring to know we made it. Thus, maybe some on here are intimidated by Pitt, but our players know deep down that we for sure have the ability to win this game and will give it all they have to attempt to do so.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Its pretty easy guys, if we shoot less then 35% we just flat out aren't going to win this game. The problem is that is a distinct possibility. You just can't be shooting 32% and winning (especially upsets) in the NCAA tourny.
I don't care about anything else. We will defend well, we will outrebound them, we will foul more then them and shoot our FT's fairly poorly and we will play like crap against the zone. If we shoot less then 35% not only do we lose but we deserve to, that's it....simple...

The average number of points the Shocks lost by this year, per game? 6.375 points.
The average number of points the Panthers lost by this year, per game? 6.375 points.
(both teams have lost by a total of 51 points over 8 games)
Number of times WSU lost by more than one possession: 5
Number of times Panthers lost by more one possession: 6
Why We Should Be Nervous
---
The average field goal percentage for all of Pitt's opponents when they lost: 46.6%
The lowest field goal percentage shot against Pitt that resulted in a loss: 38.3% (Notre Dame)
That's a high hurdle to jump right there ... Thank God we have Baker back. And hopefully Early won't have the life snuffed out of him by overly tight refereeing.
Why They Should Be Nervous
---
WSU's opponents average field goal percentage when WSU lost is: 48.2%
And WSU's average shooting percentage for all of their wins this year is: 45.4% (corrected this)
Even if Pitt get's their average 47.5%, they might just find themselves losing, because WSU finds a way to win with low shooting percentages.
This is going to be a battle royale.Last edited by Kung Wu; March 21, 2013, 09:07 AM.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

Good Morning Shocker Fans from snowy Salt Lake City! It's supposed to stop around 11:00, not much accumulation. O Springtime where are you.
Some other points about this game. I'm guessing the arena will not be very full today for our game and wondering how this affects both teams. We are used to playing on the road in a quieter environment :), Pitt, not so much, advantage us. Pitt did not make the dance last year (CBI) and have a history of quick exits. Here's to hoping we can help them sustain that history.
When the year began, our expectations to make the NCAA tourney were a low probability but we made it. Nobody gave it to us, we earned it. Play relaxed, get those first couple of shots to go down and get the jitters out. Here's a toast to the Shox.:poster_wu:Last edited by I_Vector_Wu; March 21, 2013, 10:14 AM.
