WSU VERSUS PITTSBURG PREDICTIONS AND PREGAME DISCUSSIONS

Fred hasn't played well against teams that get physical with him, Pitt will do just that, leaving Armstead to play most of the PG mins. I think this one hinges on Mal, if he plays like he did against CU in STL, there's a decent chance we are glued to the TV on Saturday. My keys are simple: limit turnovers and win the battle on the glass. If WSU wins both of those statistical categories:

WSU 64
Pitt 61

Lose either:

Pitt 65
WSU 58

You better believe this is Mal's game. We need him to play like he did against VCU.. taking such great care of the ball that he makes it look easy. I've never seen Mal get rattled by an opposing team's guards. I don't expect to see it tomorrow.

It's going to take more than valuing the ball to win, but our strategy should begin and end with valuing the ball. Every possession is going to be important. We need EO to give us everything he has on the boards. We need to gain extra possessions through rebounds and perhaps steals.

I cant say I'm going to expect more of the same. I don't see how a game in which Manigault registered 12 minutes and and a freshman in Demetric played 13.
I'll take Malcolm against any leagues best guards and feel comfortable. Now if Malcolm and Demetric start chucking up the well guarded shots early in the shot clock then we may be in trouble. But I don't think a game 3 years ago has any bearing on what happens on the floor tomorrow.

I don't see how How Kyles and Murry fared as sophomores (Murry playing out of position) and DW and Tyler Richardson did as freshman has any relevance to our chances tomorrow.

Wasn't it Seton Hall, a Big East team, that we beat before also beating Tennessee from the mighty SEC? Was we really supposed to win these games? Trust me when I say we are very capable of winning this game and to do so we must play our best A game. Maybe History could repeat itself? There is no easy path at this Dance. These teams are real good and consistent winners. So are we.

Frank Martin's S.C. did not make it. Turgeon's Terrapins did not make it and I think they even beat Duke. We had major injury issues. We made it. VCU had beat us twice but this team of Shocks found a way to beat them at their barn. We have a great shot to win this game and it will a be close "knock-down-drag-out-battle" on every solitary possession.
