We were getting 3 votes in the coaches poll :)

Seems like we also beat Wyoming who was not chopped liver either. Can't remember just what the best ranking was 60SHOCK. However some of the media, some fans and even some foes were already acting like and proclaiming our Dance ticket was already punched. Then what happened in Vegas did not stay in Vegas. We then entered the Valley Race and that was 'just wrong' the way it ended with that much talent. What a "big dipper roller coaster ride" that was. Yikes!!!

Give me this team of road warriors and let's move forward with the swagger of knowing 'we respect all and fear nobody but nobody' that will join us in the Dance. We have almost all of our rotation back finally, which means we could be scary good. How will we do? Dunno, but how many teams that will join us would of even made the Dance, if facing the same adversity we did this Season?
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

I feel we will go as far as our guard play takes us, it has to be strong. Armstead needs to be on his game (doesnt have to have 28), along with Williams (whos in a bit of a slump). I like the way Vanvleet is playing and with Baker back with the 10 days to prepare I like our chances. Against CU we missed alot of baskets at the rim, we must convert like we normally do. Early needs to get back to being Early, if he played like he usually does we beat CU. He should be over the bug and with Cotton you have one of the best defenders in D-1. The defense will be there, the rebounding will be there if we can get some transition baskets and hit the freethrows and stay away from those dreaded 4-5 minute droughts I like our chances of getting game one, then who knows. We have the team that can make a run, we just need to be consistant on the off. end. Now lets just do it.........

Same reason you hang up a banner for the Elite 8 but you don't hang one up for the Sweet 16 at the same time. You might have made it to the Sweet 16, but that's irrelevant once you make the Elite 8. You only take credit for the larger one.

Yeah, if you want to get technical about it, WSU has been to at least the Sweet 16 four times. Fairly sure we only have one Sweet 16 banner, though. It's common sense when you see the Final Four and Elite 8 banners.

Maybe some more time off is in order.

Your bracket work is always greatly appreciated. I wish you would have divulged your bracket at your website as you did the last few years.

Having said that, what exactly is "wowzers" about this thread? I can recall a more than inaccurate prediction you made about the 2012-13 Shocker team. Fans make predictions. So what?

                              • Wowzers:

I love Hatch, Rags, Ben, Cle, Hannah, ArmStud, but nobody has a stroke like Baker.
                                Career 3pt %
                                Joe Ragland 42%
                                Clevin Hannah 41%
                                Graham Hatch 38%
                                Ron Baker 33%

For all we like to gripe about not winning the MVC tournament, I think Creighton's streak of futility is more amazing.
                                Past 25 years:
WSU - 0 Arch Madness Championships & 2 appearances in the finals despite being a top 2 seed on 6 seperate occassions, top 3 seed 8 times
Creighton has been favored only twice in their 14 NCAA games, has been a significant underdog (5 seed difference or greater) half the time, 4-10 record

fan of the dirtiest team in hoops... thanks for costing UNC a title last year, you pathetic POS of a program.
CU is the dirtiest team in hoops? One single play by one player makes the entire program a POS?

I like Ron Baker, but let's not get carried away.
Creighton hasn't had a lot of success in the NCAA Tournament, but their failures are nowhere near as epic as WSU's have been in St. Louis.
If I have any honest bones in my body I have to atleast admit that Creighton runs a generally clean program.
I haven't even touched on the insane optimism running around in this thread, or the strawman arguments put forth against the CU fan who stirred the pot a bit, but kept things relatively logical.

                                Shorter answer: Wowzers

P.S. I divulged my bracket in the bracketology thread here on shockernet about 30 minutes before the selection show started. I know, not the best way to make it visible, but I didn't exactly put a lot of time and effort in this year.
