The last time we played the Cuse, it was at their barn, on TV, and against their zone. We laughed all the way to the bank with oodles of Orange bread.. Of course we were hitting shots, so let's hope we settle down and not only get some high % shots inside, but can move it out and hit the 3's with better regularity. Baker, Malcom, Wiggy, FVV,, Cle, and D-Wiil could get hot and it become contagious for some games. Yikes.

Last time we played Syracuse we were a completely different team. I guess you could superficially compare Kyle Wilson and Sean Ogirri to Early and Wiggins, but that team as a whole had more success from the perimeter (mainly, I seem to remember they took better shots from outside). Syracuse is also much better than they were then. #1 in block% to #4, #9 in steal% to #52, #12 in 3PT% to #63, etc.

This year, with this Wichita State team and this Syracuse team, we have a lot of mismatches with Syracuse. They are way down on the list on teams I'd like to play, perhaps even the bottom.

Wouldn't count on seeing them out of the round of 32. Never won two consecutive games in the NCAA or NIT tournaments in program history, dating back to the 40s ... hell of a lot of history that says they choke by the second game >=)

For all we like to gripe about not winning the MVC tournament, I think Creighton's streak of futility is more amazing. That and Saint Louis's streak of 57 years without winning two games in a row after going to the Final Four in 1955.

BTW - I am a Jays fan and I admit and know that we have massively underperformed in the NCAA tourney. Hoping last year is a good stepping stone and would be very happy with a sweet 16. We dont care about the NIT and dont brag that we "won a few games" in a tournament no one cares about.

I really don't think a Creighton fan should make any comments that include the words "flamed out in the first round" ... that's essentially your entire program's identity. Flaming out is your national identity. I do have to thank you guys for always making it so easy to fill our Creighton on my brackets, though. Just mark you guys down for a first or second round loss every time you show up ... easy as cake.

Why would you brag about "winning a few games" in the NIT when your NIT record is even MORE pathetic than your NCAA record? You'd actually have to win a few games in that "tournament no one cares about" to brag about it. That lack of consecutive wins streak isn't just the NCAA ... you've never done it in the NIT, either. Ever. It's pretty easy to "not care" about a tournament that you can't get to the third round in, huh?

I suck at logic. People on here are saying they hope for S16, E8, or F4 and admit that with bad matchups it could be one and done. YOU say we are saying we would "settle", when that was NEVER said, not once in this thread (other than to say we should "settle down").

In @cujays: defense I think he said he was a jays fan. I don't think he ever claimed a Creighton, or for that matter any other, education.

My take on this thread is that fans should have BIG dreams for their team. Heck it doesn't cost any more than little dreams. And in today's college basketball landscape these BIG dreams are actually possible. Perhaps a long shot, but not totally out of the realm of actually happening. See George Mason, see VCU, see Butler, see Gonzaga.

If I was a Creighton fan I would have BIG dreams for my team as well (assuming I had not yet comitted hari kari).
