I haven't read this whole thread, so maybe this was mentioned, but it was a funny moment when Doug was shooting a free throw and the group of Shocker fans up where the oxygen masks were hanging from the ceiling started the "Daddy's boy" chant. I have to say the CU fans were stunned. Then on the second free throw I look up and the section below the Shocker fans are standing facing them and trying to drown them out with something of their own - end result is a lot of noise as Doug shoots (makes both, by the way). Pretty funny. Well done junior astronauts!

Just finished watching the replay. Wow what a difference it makes seeing the action up close. HOW many times did Etcha-Sketch try to set a screen and then slide his feet or give a shoulder or hip check. I guess that's okay now. How does McD create room on the drive, with his elbow/forearm leading the way of course. Tekele Cotton is one tough dude (but we already knew that). Very proud of the way the Shox hung in there. Can't wait for St Louis.

I am getting kind of worried about Malcolm, when comes to that collision with Cotton. He has been complaining about his head is pounding on twitter, and today he said it is worse than it was yesterday. I hope he will be fine by Friday.

Art. 2

In establishing and maintaining legal screening tactics, the screener shall:
a. Stay within his or her vertical plane with a stance no wider than shoulder width apart and shall not lean into the path of an opponent or extend hips into that path, even though the feet are stationary.

Art 4.

No player, while moving shall set a screen that causes contact and delays an opponent from reaching a desired position.

Appendix III Section 2. Screening

If a player is engaged in illegal screening tactics and there is no contact with the opponent, no foul has occurred.

Trick question, nothing wrong with a moving screen if the defender doesn't make contact and goes around the screener.

Drives me crazy, we need to be coached to hit the pick in some manner and flail, only way to induce a call.

Right, so like I stated, Etcha -sketch (after establishing position) slides sideways or leans with a shoulder and bumps the pursuing defender off his line would be a foul, correct?

Or Wragge shoving Carl (?) across the top of the paint and then back pedaling into TK with his butt to setup McD for a curl to the rim.

I see what's described in Art. 4 all the time and it rarely, if ever, gets called. It seems that unless a player is obviously trying to set a screen (that is, going to where his teammate is positioned or if his teammate is trying to use him as a screen), contact that impedes a defender is alright. At least, that's the way I've been seeing it.

Did he (etch-o-sketch) beat him to the spot and establish a legal position?
That is what the official has to determine.

If he does, then its on the defender to avoid the contact or make contact with legally established screener (who probably outweighs him by 50 lbs).

This is why almost all players wear teeth guards these days. ;-)
