  • They booed immediately after Cotton went down. Hall may have added to it, but they were booing one of our guys on the floor.

They were booing Hall LAYING OUT Gibbs under the basket. I didnt rewatch it, but I enjoyed it.
I was at the game, they initially were booing Hall. When play stopped, it got quiet, then Marshall ran across the court and began arguing with the official at mid court in front of press row. The arena then began loudly booing Marshall. All Wichita State players got applauded when they got up and walked off the court. The booing was directed at Hall and Marshall, never at Cotton or any injured player.

Keeping it in perspective, I would expect any fanbase to boo an opposing coach when he runs across the court to argue with an official. I don't know what Marshall's beef was, he may have been justified, but you have to expect the opposing coach to get booed in that situation.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

        • Not the delayed reaction from fans around me, and I was not near the student section.

          • Marshall was saying "Why can he slide on his back across the backcourt line with the ball and it not be over and back. They missed though and all was good, bit Coach wanted to point out how they missed that call, and that he had 2 players spurting blood and they never took another look.

              • I'm at peace with this loss already. I would have been ecstatic had we won but realistically that was going to be our toughest conference road game and those evil bastards didn't disappoint.

But I am still seething over Evansville.

This post is bs. I was there. I could hear what the fans were saying between boos. Nobody mentioned HCGM or Hall. They were calling MA a faker since he didn't leave the game and were pissed that play was stopped.

I was there, too. The boos were reaction to Hall steamrolling Gibbs. MA & Cotton got standing ovation as they recovered/got up. Play was stopped when Shox got possession of the ball.

I don't know about this. Hmmm, already at peace after a loss to Creighton and to top it off picking Creighton over the Shocks in the pick 'em contest.

Creighton is the No. 1 seed in the Valley Tournament and @Kung Wu: is the No. 1 seed in the ShockerNet pick 'em contest.

Are you sure you havn't sold your soul to the devil? Have you been to Georgia lately?

Please don't tell me you will be changing your screen name to Kung Blu. :wink-new:

In truth, I'm thinking this is all part of your master plan to insure the Shockers win for the 1st time in St. Louis.

                      • UPDATE: I ended up running out of Tom Collins mix a couple of hours ago and i started drinking Roses' Lime juice that is a couple of years old and hasn't been refrigerated and I barely even remember that we played a game today, still highly recomend the bunck approach.

ps - I've had to hit backspace and delete about 25 times during this post so there is that problem as a a side effect.

                        • The worst problem we've had this week was an absolutely porous defense for 3 of 4 halves (statistically speaking; we probably gave out more defensive effort than that but the results aren't there).

I believe that we allowed our opponents to shoot 70% from the field in both the first half in the Evansville game, and both halves of the Creighton game. I could be off by a few percentage points (maybe one of those was only around 67%), but the point stands. That isn't bad, that is horrible. We have to get back to holding teams to 30-40% a game.

When's the last time you won an outright title, toolbag? He's closer to being right than you actually think.

                            • I'm over it. We were picked 4th. We bettered expectations AGAIN. sCUm barely hung onto their preseason placement, but certainly didn't dominate it at 17-1 like their fans actively predicted going into the year. So for that, they definitely underachieved.. AGAIN.

Win 1 in St. Louis and we're likely in. Win 2 and we're a lock.

No pressure as a 2 seed. sCUm has the pressure of a 1 seed in front of their legion of drunken fans. Play like you're not expected to do anything.

I think it is less about getting wins and more about avoiding losses. That said, I don't think a loss to ISUR or UNI will kill us, so I think we just have to beat SIU/MSU to get in. Comparing us to the bottom of the at-large contenders, we have a slightly higher RPI, worse SOS, and better record against the top 100. We just can't get any more losses to teams not in the top 100.
