Though today is bitter, its kind of interesting that we're all p'ed and moaning (me too!) about a 24-7 record, battling for the conference title on the last day, and though still with a bit of work to do, squarely in the NCAA picture.
It wasn't that many years ago that seasons of 24+ wins would have been heady heights making us quite happy. Now we've had four years of this level, and we're hungry for more and not satisfied with just pretty good. This is a good thing, the way baseball used to be, and I hope the team can dig down and find the MTXE needed for STL. I'm proud that this team over this season has probably over-achieved, but it is NOT time to be done. Not yet.

On our biggest game of the year (so far), and we played the worst defense of any Shocker team in history. Think about that. That is disappointing regardless of the implications. We are still an NCAA quality team, but we need to start playing like it and quickly.

'wichita state too physically weak (relatively speaking) to bump creighton off of their shooting spots (if they could get there), just like i said after the evansville game. phsyically weak with the ball at times, too. like, impotent.

I'm too lazy to read much of this thread.
I thought we played well. I thought Creighton played utterly amazing. We let them have some open shots, but for the most part, I thought we defended very well and very aggressively. They just couldn't miss, and you just have to tip your hat and move on.
I have a lot more respect for Creighton today than I thought I'd ever have, with how McDermott responded to the pressure and with how their team responded to what seemed to be a very physical game. Considering the reason I've never been very impressed with Creighton was because of defensive weakness, McDermott's disappearing act in big games, and their lack of physicality ... I'd say they changed all three of those today in a big way.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'

No one in the nation is going to win against creighton when they shoot 70%. I don't care who you are. It wont happen. Doesn't matter if dougies scores 2 points and fouls out, if creighton as a team shoots 70% they win

so shooting 70% vs wsu shouldn't give us pause? meh, creighton was just hot.. evansville too.. nothing to worry about.
oh, well.. who cares, right? i picked wsu to finish second in the mvc anyway. so.. whatever.
