i have no idea. but i do not like our chances at all of going 3-0 vs drake. not this team.

one thing for sure, whomever they play in the first round, wichita state will have to go 3-0 vs ilsu to make the valley tourney finals.

Especially when all they do is shoot threes. Absolutely mind boggling...
Creighton made exactly 4 more baskets then we did today. 11 3 pointers versus 7. They had to hit 70% of their shots to do that. This wasn't a BAD performance by the SHOX. Just a disappointing result....

Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's never happened.

If u are going to try and be aggressive and double down that is going to happen. The same thing happened to wsu only difference wsu could not hit their 3s except cotton.

Atta boy...that's why I chose vodka today vs. beer. The hurt isn't nearly as bad.

I hear ya man, but McDermott goes out of the game and they go on a huge run with three uncontested threes. I mean, I can understand if they had all of these athletic guys driving and dishing, but they don't. They have white guys who stand beyond the three point line and shoot threes. Why there is not a player constantly in their grill MAKING them drive the ball, is beyond me.

Because we're even worse against the dribble drive?

It took one of our best overall offensive games to stay with a dozen. If SoW doesn't have a career game, we win today. He's good, but not THAT good. It just wasn't going to happen.

I will predict CU doesn't come close to playing this well the rest of the season. What happened today basically solidified two NCAA bids (yes, I think we're in because I can't see us losing our first game in the Lou).
ok so their best player has a career game, Colty Ryan lights us up the game before. We know these are the 2 best offensive players in the conference, yet we let them have career games. Where the hell is our defensive strategy. Who's drawing up these game plans?

                  • Trust me more often than not, you want one guy to go off.

It always seemed like when MJ would have a huge game the Bulls would lose, same with Kobe. I'll take defending Ryan and Dougie over a balanced offense anytime.

                      • At the present time we have lost 5 of our last 10 games which in the past has resulted in some schools not getting selected for poor performance at the end of the season.

If we lose our 1st conference game - we will have lost 3 in a row once again and 6 out of our last 11 - Chances are we are in NIT

If we win our 1st game and lose the second - We might squeak by on our overall record provided that CU wins tournament.

If we win first two and lose to CU - We are in

If we win first two and lose to someone other than CU in final - We gotta hope that the Valley gets 3 bids

Yeah, but if we can't keep THAT team from dribble driving on us, there's no hope.

                          • We didn't play great today but Creighton was pretty good and lucky (witness the Gibbs prayer shot when falling out of Bounds)to boot.

                              c'mon, it's royalshock, mvctalk moderator.

certainly, it's happened in other conferences. 'could happen here in the mvc, too. just a matter of time.

when was the last time, before last wednesday, that wichita state lost on senior night to a team that was 1-7 on the road in the mvc?

I would agree with this, and also say that it's time to quit whining and crying about the season. We were picked 4th and came in 2nd...with 2 starters out for the entire Valley season and 1 starter out for part of the Valley season. We competed hard the majority of the time, and it is a long, hard season.

It's now time to regroup and focus on the task at hand. Time to continue to back the Shocks 100 percent. The players will need as much support as ever if we are to sniff the NCAA's this season. Sometimes, we tend to think we are the overwhelming favorite to dominate everything, and we are not. We need extra effort, and we need efficiency; our margin for error is slim.

Stay behind our team and show them our full support; they are going to need any and every advantage they can get.
