if guards show up it will be a close game with at least a chance to win.

if guards play like last night.........75 - 56 CU

guards can't rest and they have to start at the tip off

If we play like we did last night, we're going to get absolutely smoked. That said, I don't think we could possibly play that bad again. I wish this game was at Koch. Unfortunate it's their senior night, final home game, conference on the line, it doesn't get much bigger for the Jays fans. My stomach feels so sick...:fatigue:

Welp, McDermott is already begging for an atmosphere the ClinkyDink Center has never seen before. They can try so hard, but sorry, that town and program is too cosmopolitan for college basketball. Intimidating? LOL.
Pay attention to the last paragraph:

I just love BJ fans. One win over an average Bradley team and they think they're invincible again. I would LOVE to PISS on their cheerios and get a 3rd straight win there for a Valley title. I would love to see that place fill up with tears.
        Deuces Valley.
        ... No really, deuces.

Really hoping we get a crew similar to the one we had here against Creighton that lets both teams play physically.

Comparative Stats from StatSheet.com - Creighton

"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Hey Shox- Jays fan here, hold the rocks and arrows for a minute and lets talk about the game. I bet you wish the Ref's will let Hall do his thing- a ton of your game is put backs. These will be VALLEY ref's though- known to be whistle happy. I think the key for the Jays is guard play, No- not exactly cocky after Bradley but we sure did progress in assists and sharing the ball, probably our best half of ball since December. So, if your guards can disrupt our guards and push them out I can see a grind it out game, on the other hand if we can establish tempo early I like our chances. Either way should be a great tilt, this is what any team wants a winner take all game. We both have had our bruises from this season- who knows lets hope we meet Sunday in St Louis also-this way were both in the dance. Thanks to the poster who mentioned applauding Josh Jones on Senior day, classy.

well, i picked the shockers over evansville in a tough game. i figured evansville would show up- 'never figured the shockers wouldn't. so i'm not feeling too confident in my prognastication abilities right now.

but... creighton gets the win in a nail-biter vs the shockers.

sorry, but the shockers totally blew it against evansville. back-to-back mvc titles was right there for them at home. too late now.

As far as Jones is concerned, I dont think a single person wishes him anything but the best.

I have to disagree on Tempo. Davidson last year, at Creighton, and Detroit have shown that these teams are more than capable of running with anyone. The way to beat the Shockers is make them play half court and flop like a soccer player or redfish.

If this game is played at a faster pace/tempo, please God let it be so, I really like our chances. One, we have far more depth that the BJs and should be fresher at the end of a race like that. Two, we have more speed and athleticism that would benefit us in the open court. Three, lets face it, we play better D and can protect the basket better than them in such a game.

When it's all on the line in a game like this, I'll take an imperfect but tough as nails team over a group of Surburban H-O-R-S-E players any day. It won't be easy, it may come down to the wire, but I see us winning this one and using it as a springboard for another long winning streak.
I was just the opposite. I felt very, very confident about us winning this E. game but thought Creighton might be in a heap of trouble at Bradley. Well maybe I need a new pair of black and yellow framed rose colored glasses? Dunno, but I was much more confident we would be Evansville than I was Creighton beating Bradley at Bradley.

As far as our road game at Omaha, I think of 3G suggesting that this Shocker team seems to perfom the best when our backs are to the wall. We did beat them by 21 there last Season and we are one of the best teams in the Country at winning on the road. Creighton will be focused because they were coined as a disappointing team recently, we beat them here, and this is for all the marbles.

This heavy weight brawl will be very close IMO. If our guards are leading us and we play our A game, we can indeed win this one. However, we have to hit shots way better than last night. Let's hope our stingy defense can contain their offense to a mild roar.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

we can play full court basketball. It's the half court game we struggle with.

It would place tremendous pressure on the boys in St. Louis to get to the championship game, which in my opinion, is the very least this team has to accomplish for their chance to dance.

Creighton smells blood in the water.
Does that mean, after we beat Creighton, that it may also destroy their at large possibilities?

could happen...........suppose they lose to us and and don't make the finals in the Loo, and then suppose that one of the ISU's defeats WSU in the finals.......the Jays would prolly be out

As long as WSU doesn't get into a 3 point/free throw shooting contest with CU, I like WSU to win the game. WSU has big edge in athleticism, rebounding and defense and CU has big edge in shooting. WSU needs to attach CU's weak defense early and often. Hopefully its not too tightly officiated of a game. This game is expected to be 18K+ in attendance (but the CU crowd is not a loud one compared to WSU). Look forward to being there to watch Gregg Marshall cut down the nets in Omaha. WSU by 8.
