  • There wasn't a charge at the end. We flopped and didn't even wait for contact. I'd have to look again for the travel as I didn't notice it live.

In his defense on the blarge, Jake was moving and he had a great angle to see that as opposed to the guy that called the charge.

Who do you think is a better official? (If you say fast Eddie, then I know you've been drinking early in the AM).
Above all, make the right call.

      • I'll ask again, does anyone of a link where we can see the last play? I heard on the radio, but want to see it for myself. It sounds like the refs put us out of our misery after we had all but killed ourselves off all game long.

            • I took a night to sleep on it and I'm still mad as well.

I am mad at our starting point guard that I'm not suppose to say anything negative about making some
bad plays down the stretch, 2 bad passes and one bad shot.

I didn't think Marshall got outcoached. How do you outcoach a team that can sit back in a 2-3 zone and watch as your players
miss outside shots one after another? How do you coach when you have players in foul trouble?

I didn't see the first half. In the second half, if I remember right, WSU committed 7 team fouls in the first seven minutes and 10
in 10 minutes. How do you outcoach the other team when every time you turn around in the second half SIU is shooting free throws?

I thought the officials in the second half were BAD.

              • As bad as the officiating was, our players were worse. Throwing the ball to the other team, dribbling slow and lazy, letting guys get wide open 3 pointers one after another, passing the ball into the lane when our guys underneath are covered up with 2 or three defenders, the non-stop fouling, etc.etc. etc.

Not sure what has happened, but they've completley forgotten how to play smart basketball. We have no leader on the floor, instead we have a guy throwing the game away in crunch time. The play at the end of the first half, the play with 11 seconds left on the clock, the dribbling off the leg. Please make it go away.

Someone please tell me KC Shox is wrong about this. Please tell me that the 7 figure income, 6th year head coach at WSU didn't expect/predict a return to the NIT after achieving nothing more than a first round loss in the NCAA Tournament.

He stated on the Podcast linked yesterday that he would have been satisfied coming into the season with 23 wins and a run in the NIT.

I mean, I think most on here would not have flinched back in September if we were told that would be the outcome. That of course won't excuse our performance if we continue to faceplow across the finish line.

I think we've used up all of our margin of error at this point. We HAVE to beat MSU, DU, Detroit and UE at home. We also MUST win, at a bare minimum, at either ISUr or ISUb to have any chance at all for an at-large.

Things have gotta change in a major way for any of that to happen.

Sorry bud, he's said this on at least two occasions that I've heard. I believe someone has posted a podcast of an Andy Katz interview, listen for yourself then come back and apologize.

Please tell me that we wouldn't have been happy with an NIT run after losing so many good players. Please tell me that we aren't going to look at last years team as a failure because they lost a close game to an underseeded VCU team. 16-2 in the Valley is the best we're going to see for a long time. That being said, we were a lock for the NCAAs a week ago. We're still in the tournament. Let's sell-out Koch on Saturday and help get the team back on track.

I thought he (HCGM) would set up a pass to mid court & call a TO to set up a half court offense/last shot.

But it is on HCGM to communicate to the official closest to him he intends to call a TO once the pass is made.

On another note, as predicted, the sun came up this AM.

But I'm still fuming over last night.
Marshall was clearly signaling timeout when the ball went to Carl immediately. There was a referee about 10-15 feet from him that didn't acknowledge him at all. Marshall was pissed and threw his bottle at the media table. I agree that he probably should have told the ref in advance of what he was going to do, but it looked to me, a timeout should have been acknowledged, but was not. That just compounds an already frustrating night.

At the end, it never should have come down to the final 11 seconds of the game.

Just wanted to add watching the ball come off the rim for a second and then moving towards it. It was really strange.

                            • Luckily, I fell asleep on the couch and slept through the second half of our continued implosion. In 50 words or less, can someone sum up for me wtf happened last night?
