Socialists talk about how the rich can afford to give up some of their wealth in order to satisfy the desires of others.

I think, if I may be so bold, that the comment was mostly made as a joke. Don't let people's hatred for the arrogance of that program fool you.

I think the REAL point was that their so-called excuse for not scheduling us (we would lose too much money or whatever) is obviously pure BS like most of us know already.

Scheduling us would mean they would have to acknowledge our existence, and therefore upset the pecking order in the region/state. Nothing more, nothing less. It also might mean that the NE Kansas media markets would actually have to make the 'discovery' that we actually do exist, and are not the 'mythical' university that's rumored to lie near the confluence of the Little and Big Arkansas Rivers.

I thought that's what liberals wanted. KU is about as liberal as it gets in Kansas. They need to start walking the walk.

          • I still don't completely buy that it will cost KU money. A game in Wichita whether Koch or Intrust, will be nationally televised. If they play in Wichita, that does not mean they have to give up a home game. I realize they don't play many OOC road games (nobody really does), so instead of playing in Philly vs Temple, they play in Wichita. BFD.

Interesting observation. That's EXACTLY what KU said in 1964 when WSU was forced upon them as a Regent's institution and their wealth was redistributed to support us...
