Why is Jiake White shooting 3s??

Yes, it seems to me we have a total lack of confidence in our own shooting (I'm not talking Shockernetters, I'm talking the players themseleves). If the players don't believe they are going to go in, or they are not confident enough to take the shot, they will most likely miss.

Agreed, but Cle and Nick seem to have confidence. I'm no basketball genius and don't pretend to be, but I would think having Cle and Nick in the game at the same time as Hall would wreck havoc on the opposing team's defense.

I agree that 32% from 3 is not bad and that Baker is going to provide a boost if he comes back. I don't think it is as simple as being worth 48% on twos, however. You get fouled a lot more on shots in the lane. You probably get more rebounds though I'm not sure on that. You get more rebounds close to the basket for sure. You need the three percentage to exceed the comparative value of twos to counterbalance the other invisible benefits of being in the lane.

The biggest benefit Baker brings to the table is that he is a "five tool" guy. He may not be the best at any one part of the game, but he is better than average at just about everything. He can pass, shoot, drive, handle and defend. Currently, HCGM is constantly having to choose skillsets at the 2 & 3 spots. With Baker you get all of the above.

I don't understand the reaction in this thread, other than because of who the OP is. I've seen pretty much every single player on the team called out worse than this at varying points, although maybe not in their own thread, and not get any reaction. Doesn't change the fact that Jake White is an utterly terrible 3 point shooter. While there might be some truth to the fact that no one else has the confidence to take the shot ... I can go out there and miss 3s with confidence. I don't see how that helps the team.

White has tons of positives, and I love how he busts his ass for the team constantly. Just stop with the 3s.

Let's not go overboard. The thread title is more than a reasonable question. White does some very good stuff and is a good to great rebounder. 8% from 3 point is cause for concern.

I don't understand the confusion but I clearly caused it so let me restate. The original thread title was despicable and caught the ire of those that saw it before it was changed. So my response to @Rlh04d: was to clear up why so many people were pissed off early in the thread about what currently doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

Not to cause any more confusion, but the only thread title I've seen is what it is right now. If there was a different title and it was changed (by the Admins, I assume), then why was Jake's name spelled Jiake and not corrected when the title was changed?

I don't believe it was ever changed (or it was changed really quickly) because I saw it when it went up. Like you if they had changed it why wouldn't they correct the spelling?

If it wasn't the thread title then it was the post title. And it did change quickly after about the first 3 or 4 responses. In fact I am surprised there wasn't a probation issued over it.

Of course I could be insane and making this all up for no reason whatsoever -- that's in the realm of possibility.
