We got at least three more losses coming in the regular season (@ISU red, @Creighton and @ISU blue). In addition, to a loss in the MCV tourney, this team will finish with at least 8 losses before selection Sunday. If it stays at 8, we probably stay right on the bubble. However, our non-con SOS of schedule is slowly and steadily becoming crap which won't help us out.

I love how you're so certain, yet his history here says otherwise. But don't let history get in the way of your made up facts

That pregame speech they showed of Marshall concerned me. Basically said let's play smart and walk out with a W. takes more than that when the other team has a specific strategy to whip your ass.

          CBB_Fan's Panic Thread Part Deuce

Alright. Teams have figured us out. Every team in the Valley is going to play with the exact same gameplan because it is working.

Why have we lost two in a row? Why is it an almost certainty that we have lost our ranking and a chance for a protected seed? I hate to call out anyone, but I have to:

This is on Armstead, Williams, Cotton, and Van Vleet. Every team is gameplanning around those players, because they do NOTHING for us on the offensive end. If we have three of the four of them out at the same time, nothing happens. Dribble, dribble, dribble, slow pass (maybe turnover), dribble, dribble, dribble, slow pass, DESPERATION SHOT!!!

Those guys need to find something to do for us, or we will continue to lose games. If you don't know, we are going into a stretch of games that is going to determine our season. We still have at least three very loseable games coming up, and we cannot afford to keep losing.

Again, this is on our guards. Almost entirely in fact. Hall and Early are the offense, and they need the ball. We need to feed them, which we are not doing. We need to penetrate, which we are not doing. And for the love of 6' players making shots, can we get something out of Williams and Cotton?

Marshall was not able to fix our problems in one game. He needs to find a way to mask the horrendous mess that is our guardplay on offense. Our best shooters aren't getting the ball (Early/Wiggins), and our big men are getting doubled and tripled because our opponents have realized that they can play 5 on 4 or 5 on 2 against us.

Hopefully we can rebound from this, but we are playing our worst ball of the season in a time where we should be improving. We need leadership, and we need guys to figure out their problems and contribute. We have lost a lot of our goals already in the last two games (no winning the conference, no top-4 seed), but we are still playing for second and a decent spot in the tournament.

I don't think meltdown would be the word, maybe realization. UNI is a pretty decent team that played Louisville close. WSU is a good but not great team that has run into a mid season wall. They are in a "rebuilding" year, so as much as it hurts to lose when they are ranked so high, I wouldn't be surprised if they lose two more before St Louis and then the first game in the dance. It would still be a good team for next year.

He also said something about trust each other, or something like that. At the time it made me wonder if there are some chemistry issues? Something is causing this collapse.

Still have games at CU, ISUr, ISUb, SIU.

                    Wouldn't surprise me.

History is better coaches than Marshall calling time outs when the game is getting away. If you would like more time outs at the end coach better or have players perform better.

He may have been right. This team didn't play smart.

This is not the same team that played NIU last time.

Eating too many organic brownies. These guys look burned out and tired.

Who is THE leader on this team?
Why does MA and FVV dribble at times with the ball nearly hitting their chin? Could cause them to perhaps dribble off their foot or knee. I've never seen so many 5 - 5 1/2 foot high dribbles coming up the court.

Because 3G is the only successful coach that uses the timeouts the way he does..... His timeouts he called to please you today didn't do jack ****.

I feel like every person who posts a negative comment should serve penance to the reaper.

We lose to a Top 50 team at home, and then a team that played Louisville fairly well on the road, and you are all ready to throw in the towel?

Yes, we didn't play great this week. But shut the hell up with the doom and gloom. One game at a time. This isn't even close to over. You really think that we can't overcome this week? Then go root for the damn Chickenhawks.
Three things in life are constant- death, taxes, and Creighton losing in the first weekend of the tournament.

                                AAC or Bust!
