Looked at the Sycamore board. So far, about 90% of them are picking an Indiana State win.

I guess I can understand the confidence after their team was gift-wrapped a 1-point home win over UNI.

Notably there are no seniors on the INS roster. In the last two games against ILS on th road and UNI at home INS started the same 5 and played the same 9 players. Assuming that continues.

        Starters:
        C - Justin Gant 6-8 210 So - 8.4 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 10-26 (38.5%) 3Ptr, 64.9% FT
        F - RJ Mahurin 6-9 225 Jr - 9.0 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 19-59 (32.2%) 3Ptr, 70.0% FT
        F - Manny Arop 6-6 215 Jr - 13.0 PPG, 5.1 RPG, 22-74 (29.7%) 3Ptr, 79.3% FT
        G - Devonte Brown 6-3 185 Fr - 3.7 PPG, 1.8 RPG, 2-9 (22.2%) 3 Ptr, 60.3% FT
        G - Jake Odum 6-4 170 Jr - 14.1 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 11-31 (35.5%) 3 Prt, 76.6% FT

        Reserves:
        F/C - Jake Kitchell 6-10 240 So - 3.2 PPG, 2.5 RPG, 60.5% FG, 63.2% FT
        G - Khristian Smith 6-6 210 Fr - 6.0 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 4-18 (22.2%) 3Ptr, 66.7% FT
        G - Dawon Cummings 6-4 175 Jr - 4.9 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 14-61 (23.0%) 3Ptr, 66.7% FT
        G - Lucas Eitel 6-4 190 Jr - 4.9 PPG, 1.8 RPG, 28-57 (49.1%) 3Ptr, 28.6% FT

Cummings is a transfer from Coffeyville CC. I am unable to provide season stats because that link doesn't appear to be working right now on the Indiana State site. I will try to add later, if and when those are available.

Here is how I see the Shokcs matching up:
Carl and EO will matchup with Gant and Kitchell with assistance as needed from CJ.
Cle will probably primarily matchup with Mahurin.
Jake will fill in as needed at the 4 and 5
I see Tekele and Nick primarily matching up wiht Arop and Smith.
That leaves Mal, D-Will and Fred to match up with Odum, Cummings and Eitel.

Edit: Stats added. Looks like you need to guard Lucas Eitel at the 3-point line. He is shooting a very good 49.1% from behind the arc and 57 of his 67 shot attmepts have been treys. OTOH, doesn't look like you need to guard him at the FT line although the sample size is small (4-14 = 28.6%). Kind of odd though.

Jake Odum has shot 32.4% (154 - 475) his teams free throw attempts and has scored 42% of his points from the line. That tells you something about his game right there.

Nothing new. Shocks need to rebound, defend and take care of the ball and they will be very difficult for the Trees to handle. Hoping to see Carl and Cle back on track a little more this game, but that may not necessarily be key to success if the Bradley game is any indication. Someone always seems to be stepping up for the Shocks when needed.

        Go Shocks!

Keep the Shocker Express in straight and level flight.

          ICT - 73
          HUF - 66

Which ISU B will show up? The team that lost at Morehead St. and SIU? Or the one who beat Ole Miss and Miami? We should be able to handle our business and protect our house. We win by 11.

Obviously, they are capable of winning. Lock Odum down, we win.

WSU's A game is better than Indiana State's A game so your point is moot. What matters is the WSU team that showed up against Bradley or the one that dropped a turd at EU. Indiana State's only chance is if they play their A game and the EU Shocker team shows up.

Is their "at-large" discussion going as strong as the panther's?

                    Since its at home:

                    WSU - 68
                    IN ST - 59

It'll take more than a 1 hit wonder to beat the Shocks. Creighton didn't do it with Mcdermott, Echenique or Wragge

I couldn't find any at-large talk. More like hoping for a 20 win season. For a message board they also were not optimistic about Tuesday's game.

Yeah, the earlier reference to their board picking them to win overwhelmingly wasn't so accurate. Plenty of people predicting a loss (some a big loss) and even those predicting a win almost universally admit they are picking with their heart not their head.

I predict that the visitors' locker room will be covered in cave drawings.

When I posted, there were 7 predictions made. 4 of them were ISU wins, 2 of them were probable losses, and 1 was indifferent, although they mentioned "they'd (Indiana State) come to play".

My 90% was being facetious. The majority of the fans thought Indiana State was winning the game. I suppose it's not unexpected, given most fans are homers on their message boards. I just get a kick out of some people, thinking playing at Koch against a Top 15 team will be a walk in the park.
