Maybe in honor of that nightmare, we should have piped into our Arena in honor of the "black out victory" some Johnny Cash--'Ring of Fire' which would continue until they left both inside and outside their locker room, all the way to their bus. Then bribe their bus driver to play it all the way home? Muuuhahahahaha.

    • Interesting reading the discussion on the Bluejays board. The consensus opinion seems to be that they lost the game, it doesn't matter too much, the refs helped us, and that they think we will lose (perhaps by a lot) in Omaha.

They seem to believe that their shooting today was an aberration, but don't really feel like our shooting was out of the ordinary despite it being significantly worse. I don't think they realize how much Baker will help us on offense or how much better we can shoot FTs and 3s. Personally, I think the Shockers will shoot much better @ Creighton, and we'll see whether Creighton will improve as well.

Regardless, I don't think Creighton wins if we are allowed to play physical. We probably won't get that luxury, but if we do I feel like we can out-physical any team in the country. I'm hoping we can eventually run a small line-up of Armstead/Baker/Cotton/Early/Hall and a big line-up of Armstead/Cotton/Early/Hall/Orukpe, so Creighton won't even be able to game-plan for the same line-ups they played against today.

I hope you have tickets already.

Why? Creighton's superbowl is sold out already?

          • Under 500 left I heard. And that was as of Monday. By now it has to be getting near standing room only.

Funny you accuse it of being our Superbowl when there was a four page thread on here extolling your crew to go apesheet in the stands.

            • Must be $1 beer night again. Come early! So you can be sober enough by halftime to head home again.

I completely agree that there were several openings in the post for Carl and Cle that were missed, and missed pretty easily, particularly on fast breaks at the beginning of the offensive sets. Very frustrating. I wish somebody would tell those guys we have some absolute studs down there. When we go inside, we succeed a lot. I just don't understand it sometimes. That's really my main beef with D-Will and one of a couple beefs with MA.
When Demetric heads for the basket, I know one thing for sure - a scrum will break out. Otherwise I have no idea if there will be a charge, made bucket or missed bucket, but whatever it is, it will be at top speed in traffic.

An aside. There is not much forgiveness on Demetric's 3 ball. Just way too much spin.

Actually my super bowl slight was really for @Jay Dog: who called yesterday's game our super bowl. :) The reality is both of these WSU vs CU games are important to both teams and I wouldn't want it any other way. It's too bad that was our last match at Koch Arena as conference rivals.

I do not believe Gibbs has an ounce of athleticism in him. Yet the Shockers let him cruise in slo-mo to the basket several times yesterday. The guy moves like he is walking in molasses.

A buddy of mine ordered his last night on Ticketmaster and got decent upper level tickets...still quite a few left on there. Plus 300+ on Stubhub starting at $23.

Can you send me the link? I thought I was at the right place, but it just kept trying to sell me tickets to some ice skating thingy.

march2nd: still too much armstead for chatman. 'shockers will be all over the boards.

i would expect another knock down drag out. i would also expect wichita state to shoot much better.

There was point late in the game, where Chatman had the ball just inside the the circle. Actually he was pretty close to the free throw line. Nary a Shocker was on him. He held onto the ball for the longest time and never put up a shot. He was wide open, but he never shot. I thought maybe he was torn between taking a 2 shot or backing out and taking a 3 shot. Eventually he passed off. I thought it was just plain weird. For the season, he is shooting 43% and 51% from 3.
