That's what happened, but if the offensive player creates all contact, and putting your shoulder into a mans chest is going to make the arms drop some, it shouldn't be called. It's punishing the defender for good D and bailing out the offensive player for going into a defender who is doing nothing wrong. And it's another call that pisses me off.

Actually, the best ref moment was when, during the "Where's WU" promotion, the blind folded kid RUNNING (what's up with that?) to find WU
absolutely PLOWED into the white haired ref standing by the free throw line at the South end. The black ref got PISSED and came after the marketing guy on the floor like he was gonna punch him or give him a technical or SOMETHING. Pretty hilarious.
If you take the high road, you won't find much traffic there . . .

The ref made it clear that the call was based on White clearing out with his body. White may have made contact on the arm but that isn't why the ref called the foul. It was the black ref that made the call.
Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.

It seemed to me that the white haired ref was the only one making any calls (although they were bad calls), the other guys weren't calling anything.

If you want, I can call your hospital room and leave the line open while I sleep.

Anyone see the white haired ref (Eric Curry) smack Marshall in the head when running by? Marshall just turned away in disgust but was definitely set.

He's got to make a living somehow. I think that he felt pressured to get back to the nursing home and it affected his judgement.

No, the white haired ref was Eric Curry, this is his first MVC game of the year, usually works Big West/ MWC/ Big Sky games.

Zelton called the foul on Jake's alley oop rejection

Doesn't surprise me about Zelton,he was here a few weeks ago and started yelling at fans about the pronouncement of his name. Very unprofessional, makes me wonder if Blazek is still grading these guys for MVC. Haven't seen him this year.

How do these referees get "evaluated" at the end of the year and still maintain their jobs? Are there really that much slim pickens going on in college basketball officiating?

                          It's insanity.

I just think it's a Good Old Boys club where who you know is more important than your performance. It's a sshame

Spending a lot of money to go to camps put on by D1 evaluaters/assigners. I've heard stories where 100 guys can show up and they're only hiring for 1 or 2 spots. And it's not cheap to go to these things.
