Anyone else observe the two referees in the Ill. St. game having a very animated discussion during a time out? A lot of gesturing, talking over one another ect. Very animated!

I saw that as well. Clearly demonstrated the crew was not on the same page, not that we needed any confirmation of that. My take was it was over something in the lane and a disagreement about what should and should not be called at that particular point. That and I did notice a couple of calls that were made by one official that were clearly not in his zone. Unfortunately I was not close enough to the court to catch any of the conversation, but I don't believe the one official took the "coaching" very well.-Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind-

You are right on about the "lesson" being given by the grey haired ref. That same ref had what looked to be a discussion about the game, or the ref in question, with Marshall during a free shot at the other end of the ct. I would like it if Shockref would give us some insight on this as this is a first, for me anyway, to see that much "chirping" during a game between two officials.

Which two were involved. I didn't catch anything on ESPN and would be curious. I know when I've been on crews or heard stories from others, you don't do that on the court. You have your "discussion" at halftime or after the game.
I will say that the game last night was not the best officiated performance I've seen. I am definitely no fan of Steed and last night didn't help his case.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

They seemed a little disjointed, as was the game. I believe they had one discussion regarding whether Nick was in the act of shooting, which obviously he was. I think there was another after Steed tried to explain to Gregg the horrible foul call on Jake down at the north end. The officials had some animated discussion right after that.Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

Is he the one who made that awful call against Jake when breaking up the alley-oop?

From what I could see, Jake was perfectly straight up even though a guy's shoulder was going right into his chest.
