Damn it, Kirstie Alley is at the Wichita State Shocker game tonight, and it just so happens the whole arena is sold out of nachos!

    • Early is never late and the 39 points was phenominal. EO was sooo mile-high on that inbounds dunk, that FSF got a bloody nose. 10 points, 7 blocks (9 really) and rebounded some shots.

Hinson was always a solid coach and has always given us his best.

Who did they expect to find Mike? Dr. Watson?

              • Did it seem like SIU played more man defense in the second half? I would have thought they would have played a lot of zone.

                • Garrett Stutz in the house. Jamar Howard, in the house. Kiristie Alley, in the house. Monkeys' riding the backs of dawgs, in the house. Kung Wu and the Good Doc, in the house. Tonight was like cheering with the stars. 82-76 was the final. The later part of the 1st half, I went numb in disbelief. The locker room had to be ugly at halftime but we came out swinging. Even so, we never did pull away as I thought we would. 15-1 is what we like to see. We dodged another bullet but this was too close for comfort.

                    • but, down to the brass tacks- the defense wasn't up to par tonight.

'shockers looked very tired (excepting early). we need hall and baker back, at the very least, to keep.fresh.legs. on defense.

                      • This game has me copiously singing the John Travolta song that goes something like " I-I-I-I stayin alive, stayin alive, EI EI-EO and Cle keep us stayin alive, stayin alive." As WstateU would proclaim---"yipes, stripes, beechnut gum!!!"

As Marshall said in the post game, when Tekele only plays 5 minutes in the first half and the other team scores 41, someone isn't doing what Tekele does. Hard to stat that kind of defense....

shockers need plenty of rest between now and then. let them rest and re-energize, they need it after the last two games, coach

                            • The Shocks are indeed resilient and keep winning, even missing 3 starters. Maybe we were just toying with them? Or not!!! It was the genuine Cotton high-octane energy that jumped started our D. in the 2nd half. SIU was draining shots the 1st half like it was protocall but we know that pefrormance was above their normal curve.

                              • Well that was certainly not the kind of game I was expecting. A lot of credit to SIU. They probably played was well as they can play.

But after jumping out to the early 7-0 lead the Shocks totally forgot their identity as a team which IMHO is based on focus, intensity and toughness. The Shocks were anything but that in the 1st half. The 2nd half was much better, but the Shocks were not that good after pulling ahead 70-60 missing a lot of free throws and fumbling the ball away on several possessions making the game much closer down the stretch than it needed to be.

Thank goodness Cle was on fire tonight.

But a win is a win. Exhale and move on. Hopefully, the lesson has been learned. Whew!
