In this sense the metaphor is comparing reducing free-three attempts to open shots, so ordinary defense is defense played while the ball is live. Of course, the meataphor breaks down slightly when you consider that fouls and free-throws are linked on a one to one basis, and that fouls are committed on both offense and defense. However, the point is that you can make an analogy between "defending" the free throw line by reducing fouls and defending a person by not letting them get an open shot.

I hope that you are right about Early, Unfortunately, Baker is out as well . I am looking sometime for Orukpe & Lufile to go berserk. Ehimen was better than Withey before he had any gumption .I think with more game play he could really freak some people out if he desides to get angry and take charge. If he can hold onto the ball i believe that he will get it done. Lufile ( Rack) is like a 12 point buck moose that is fast, tough agressive and fearless. He could really take charge like Hall did with rebounding. Gooo Shocks!!

Unfortunately, 3G is reporting that EO is not much better than he was against Tennessee and that was about 50%. I am a little concerned that there may be something going on with his ankle that the Doctors are missing or have not been able to detect. EO's game is primarily dependent on his length and athleticism and he is majorly hampered until he gets his athleticism restored. Let's hope we start hearing some good news on the healing front at some point in time.

I'm not sure I would be concerned about something being missed. The reality is that it isn't uncommon for ankle sprain recovery to drag out like this. It is always hard to know how long someone will be affected by a sprain since the severity varies so much. Some sprains heal in days, others in months. Not great that EO's is of the more severe variety, but not necessarily a sign of something worse than a sprain.
