    1. Minimum resources must be applied to basketball. If you want to play in the Valley, you must spend $2.25 mm on basketball.
You just booted 7 out of the 10 members, lmao, although I do like the idea.

You are right, but at the same time, if those schools are serious about keeping this thing together, they need to sacrifice as well. Furthermore, if you hold Elgin accountable to getting better media deals, that would bridge some of the gap. From what I've seen, a bunch of these schools are wringing their hands because the gravy train may be ending. I didn't demand they get on the same levels as WSU or Creighton, just half. It is up to them to decide if they want to reallocate funds from football etal,or to increase their budget. If they aren't willing to do that, do you really want to associate with them?
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Shocker fans that buy season tickets spend more on basketball than 7 of the 10 Valley schools.

That just goes to show how much difference there is between league members. It definitely appears to be a bottom feeder group full of parasites.

The quality of product that the Shockers put on the floor is better than at least 7 other Valley schools. I don't like the idea of concessions, although I could see some Valley schools opting for it. but I think at that point, when the scared teams start that talk, the best interest of our school and JWB's future plans comes with a conference change, hopefully to the MWC, where we balance out the Hawaii arrangement, and that opens up West Coast recruiting for all our sports, and continues the East edge of the whole of the MWC over the rockies, right now that's probably our most likely switch.

While they are discussing CU and the future of the Valley, I wonder if they can make an emergency motion to remove Missouri State from the Conference immediately before their terrible basketball team has a chance to ruin the RPIs of everybody else in the conference?:distress:

So does anyone know what happened with this? Has the call already taken place or is it scheduled soon? Hate when news like this breaks and then suddenly everything goes silent, it's like the eye of the storm...

I'm not convinced CBB_Fan is not Savage...all of this is eerily similar to the "Big Balls/City/Metro Conf" talk the other day on my drive home.

In the summer of 2011 we were a whisker away from being in Conference USA but Britton Banowsky went another direction at the last minute. Obviously we would never be in an "Evansville" scenario where people wanted us out, but if we choose to go at some point we will have options suffice it to say. Football does that for you.

I'm more of a passive rather than rabid fan and just recently found this site...don't know a lot about the valley. What's the deal with Evansville? Other than they haven't been good for awhile?

I believe the deal with Evansville is that many Valley fans, including a good number of Shockernet members, don't believe that Evansville brings a lot to the conference in terms of quality of its teams in general and in terms of fan base.

A few years ago Evansville gave serious consideration to dropping back down to D-II status but decided against that. Whether or not that would be on the table for them again in the future I do not know.

I suppose Evansville does about as well as you would expect considering the resources available to them.

Oh Yeah! You and Tulsa. Just keep throwing money down that football rat hole. Keep grabbing at that BCS golden ring. TU left the MVC for CUSA, and look at them now. Terrible attendance and losing MILLIONS a year on football in a conference that is easily the worst FBS conference. Terrible attendance and playing basketball in a conference that is consistently worse than the MVC. Football took TU to a conference that is now falling apart. And thanks to the mess their athletic department is in, they may very well have nowhere to go. In fact, as I said before; if TU left CUSA and came back to the MVC, they'd be taking a step-up. That's what football, at your level, does for you. So go ahead. Exercise your options.
