Somehow my gut tells me we play this game a lot better than I think we will, but we still lose by falling apart in the last 2 minutes.

I was off by a few minutes.

There was a lot to like in this game.

But down the end we played like a rec-league team consisting of five players who have never played together before and just happened to be standing around the gym. Just no plays, no coaching. You can pinpoint us losing our momentum to Hill continuously calling his own number, driving the lane and getting stuffed, or taking 3-point shots himself instead of finding the hot hand.

That was kind of an annoying way to lose. We lost our poise and just didn't execute. Great effort to start the 2nd. We need a floor general. Marshall would have benched Bell for half the game on some of those forced drives. You gotta teach a kid not to do that.

Lost it on coaching difference. They take a timeout and draw up an easy layup. We turn around, take a timeout, draw up a running fading 3 for Xavier Bell.

Then we let them run the clock down to 15 seconds down 4

Final: North Texas 58, Wichita State 54 Shockers played well enough on defense for the win, but their crunch-time offense left plenty to be desired. Only 1 field goal in the final 9 minutes of the second half.
