Remember reported attendance is based on tickets sold, not butts in the seats.

I would think Utah State's home court would be worthy of some mention.

I don't think Shocker fans have really gotten into the spirit of things yet this year, but that's most due to the quality of the competition that has visited Koch Arena so far this year. Tulsa being the best so far I suppose, but not great by any means.

Oh I know that the reported attendance is ticket sales, but all that says is that KSU fans buy basketball tickets to get priority points for football, not that they consistently care about attending basketball games.

You are absolutely right about Utah State. They should have at least received votes, if not been in the top 10.

I know when I went to OU for a Texas A&M game I was glared at for talking too loud and the crowd was about terrible. I bet there were 300 people, and a good third of them were Aggies.

It was an 11 point game with under 11 minutes remaining. Then the Shocks put the pedal to the metal.

Yeah, I don't think most were overly concerned at that point. But an 11 point lead with 11 to go is not a "no doubter". Especially in the 3-ball era.

Did you see their arena last year? Half full. At best. It is a great environment when they are 20-3 and playing a high-caliber team on ESPN. A true home-court advantage is bringing it every night, every year, regardless of product.

In Texas, I can pick out individual voices on the radio for more than one school. There's no perspective in Kansas, not until you leave.

Y'know, maybe we should point people back to this article when we get our annual "OMG our fans suck" thread. Apparently our crowd does something right...
Agreed. Let's hope some of that great fanbase can make it across town in a couple of weeks for a basketball game involving their team.

I have heard from a few KSU fans about how terrible their selection was for a new head men's basketball coach. I have also heard the same sentiment on the radio from KSU fans. I just don't get where they are coming from.

You had Frank Martin who was voted as one of the top coaches you would NEVER play for, who had players walking off in an exodus mid season -- who before K-State had absolutely ZERO experience as a head coach at the D1 level. Who got to the Elite 8 using some other coach's recruits. And by all accounts Franky the Bull didn't even want to be within 1000 miles of Possum Holler, KS where he was coaching.

Now you have a coach who has 3 Sweet 16s under his belt, a hell of a winning career, with something like 12 years of successful head coaching experience at the D 1 level. Who doesn't get off on berating his players as publicly as possible.

I don't like rooting for K-State basketball one bit, but I would love to see Weber kick ass and then dump the worthless fans that won't support him by moving on to another school.

Probably just a typo on that attendance figure. The 1 was actually supposed to be a /. :smug:
