I won’t lie. I’d rather just landslide and lose and see if it pushes the money men to make another gamble or do a desperate play idk. Biggest thing I fear is mediocrity and nothingness, because it’s then that people get complacent.

Probable that there are two more years of mediocrity and nothingness before change comes. Nobody is going to get complacent about WSU basketball.

I really don’t like having to play UTSA. I don’t like having to play 90% of the teams in this conference. I don’t like what has happened to Shocker basketball. I don’t like what has happened to college basketball, the NIL, or the Portal. In other words, I really don’t like any of this. I don’t give a rat’s rear about this game…may or may not watch. It depends on if whether there is anything else to do or not. I picked Shockers by one or more…but, I don’t really care at this point whether they win or not. Winning is fool’s gold and some people will say “See, things aren’t so bad”. Losing is a step towards whatever else awaits.

I don't know if I'd call it apathy, as much as the American has lost its appeal. As soon as Memphis has the opportunity to leave for a power conference, this conference will be of no interest to most (if not all) here. WITH Memphis, the American is a "push" on whether the American is higher rated than the MVC this year. WITHOUT Memphis, it would be a lower rated conference than the MVC.

I'm probably in the small minority, but I'd rather go back to the MVC (assuming they'd take us) where we would at least be in a conference that is as good or better than the American and where we have history and rivalries.

I'd also enjoy being in the A10, but that may not be possible or practical.

Feel free to point out the bad side of doing this.

In 1970 we suspended baseball and brought it back to fancy stadium, etc. So let's suspend basketball, pay off all the bad contracts. Then we can bring it back and there will be packed arenas, much excitement and winning teams. Just like what we did with football, oops forget about it. What was I thinking.
