We're in our late 60s and came for basketball and golf. The Moon Palace treats you very very well. Your glass will never be empty and you can dine to your hearts content (buffet style). It is noisy, but the pool area is terrific. It was my first time at all inclusive, and I loved it. The hotel has three main lobbys, which were basically three distinct hotels. There is much distance between far out rooms and the lobby, but they will come pick you up anytime to transport. I'd rate the place itself as B+ for me, but could be A for people more water oriented.

      • Just wait and see how good we are when we really start to figure things out as a team! We have so much unrealized potential on this team it's scary. I can't wait to see the progress continue.

This is for the benefit of the Iowa fans. They are still in dis-belief that they got rolled by a MM

                • As good as Jake was Tuesday, he was equally bad Wednesday. DW and Fred also has some less-than-sterling minutes. We fouled a lot, but we have more fouls to give than any WSU has ever had. If Baker hits a couple 3's (and he is going to have to do that, soon), we woulda beat the HELL outa Iowa.

                  • Well what a breath of fresh air on Black Friday knowing Sub is not worried. Too much turkey yesterday, but now we can just focus on leftovers. Good Gravy Baby!!! Yes, the Shockers winning the gold and the 'Good Graaaavy' as Aargh would exclaim, makes the turkey slide on down the craw much smoother. Forget the shopping by Shockernetters for FSF's Christmas presents' on a bizzare shoppin day like this for coal in my stocking. As WstateU would say to shoppin with the dedicated crazys'--"yipes, stripes, beechnut gum."

You like ugly wins? As long as we keep improving each game on both our strengths and weaknesses, winning is great. Actually, just win period. Our interior D. is tough, we are scoring more in the paint than our foes, we are scoring more points than we allow which is paramount,(tsk tsk tsk) and our quality depth goes 12 deep with an exclaimation point or 3!!! Now we want to build on these strenghts'. Our D can become 'scary good' and make the difference we need to win the close ones and the road games. Opponents presses are not making a dent so far which is great with so many new players.

There are issues we will have to address. Too much fouling will backfire when we face a team that sinks most of the throws. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that our shots will start falling from both in and out. We have missed way too many chip shots and shot and missed lots of treys. Mr. Baker had 2 tuff games and will get just as hot later as he was cold then. Early is not late in his production and Mr. Armstead eases the pain of 'no Rags' to a mild roar. Carl Hall fights and claws all over the place. Thus, all teams have weaknesses but our strenghts have us 6-0 which exceeds what was expected at this juncture.

So Sub is not worried, our beloved Shocks are 6-0, so it's all good. Now 'strap up' for the rest of our black and yellow journey towards March. There always will be some bumps, detours, and obstacles along the way. Let's hope by Feb. and March, we reach our best results and are clicking on all 12 cylinders collectively, on both sides of the hardwood. If that storybook great ending occurs, watch out!!!
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

6-0 is EXACTLY where I was expecting this team to be after I saw them at Shocker Madness. I didn't mention that here because it would have unleashed a veritable plethora of posts from those who prefer the vinegar to the Kool-Aid.

I just looked at the schedule, and it's pretty favorable for a team that's learning to playtogether. Another 20-win season is a lock. I believe that milestone will be hit before Groundhog's Day, which would put the Shox at 20-2 at the end of January.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

That's some good graaaaavy there Aargh. If yourn end of Jan. prognostications become a reality before Feb. 2nd, we all are here after Dec. 21st, 2012, then FSF will be so bright, my Dad will call me sun, and as glossy as an abominable snowman on a cold winter Jan. winter day at '21st. and Hillside' on Shocker Mountain, as windy as a Kansas breeze with shadows leading to a desired black and yellow March to remember on Groundhog Day, and as antiquated as 'ole man river.' I actually felt a win versus VCU in my ole bones my own self, but would NOT have bet the farm. True confessions from one eternal optimist to another, no matter what beverage you are partaking of.

YaYaYa and I shot a 10 under par with a hole in one and an eagle the other day when I went golfing by myself. Things don't work that way. :)

Interesting. I thought all the indoor miniature golf courses had closed down. It's hard to do that on the outdoor putt-putt courses with all the wind we've had.

Don't quote me on this, but I don't think he ever was. But if he wants to run... Wait, better not. I don't want to listen to anyone else call the games.
