    • What in the H. E. double hockey sticks are shocker fans going to talk about this summer? WSU basketball will be in dire need of a savior. He ain't coming. I'm guessing this year's squad would hammer next year's squad at this rate, that's how much confidence I have in the program right now. And, we are not good now. Next years may be one of the all time worst in many a Shocker memory at this rate.

      • The easy answer is that there are saviors for purchase every spring. You just have to have the dough.

            • Tomorrow is a travel day. I don't think there is a coaches show this week.

But when the team was clicking on all cylinders, not calling time-outs was the absolute dagger in many situations. Marshall was all about constant pressure. Coaches would exclaim how difficult it was to play us. "You think they are tough, but then they come out in the 2nd half and are even tougher". But when we weren't playing well, he looked like an asshat for not calling them.

Mills gets brand new players every year, there is an adjustment period. I wonder if the average non-brand name schools that have been beating us this year (with "guaranteed" less NIL), have more experience on their roster? And by experience, I mean playing together for 2 or 3 years? Maybe not, but it would be interesting to know.

I'm guessing many coaches around the country are trying to implement a system with players who aren't gonna get a freshman year to "figure things out". I recall Marshall's system having a fairly steep learning curve. There's a good chance he would not be doing well right now.

If I'm the coach, I'm definitely doing a deep dive on teams that are playing well with little experience and watch what they are doing. You eliminate the ones with all-star rosters. Does anybody follow college bball close enough to name a team without all-star players, that had massive turnover last year, that is doing well this year? Can you comparison/contrast their style of ball compared to ours? Are they H.O.R.S.E. city? Do they have a Tekele Cotton? Ivy League (everybody's smart)?
Yeah I remember both those times things were going bad and he didn't call timeouts like they were yesterday.
