Why would they want to broadcast to others that there's still a show? I wouldn't put out a link either.

Not sure if anyone listened, but I had to see what he had to say. Basically said we don’t have the players to match most of the league and that a big center only matches up against Memphis because everyone else has smaller mobile centers, which is tough for our centers to guard. I guess he didn’t think about that when he recruited a Scott Thompson level center from Croatia, or chose not to recruit power forwards taller than 6’5”. He said it’s a bigger rebuild job than he expected. He said a lot more words but I honestly can’t recall anything else worth repeating. If anyone else listed, I’d be interested to hear your takeaways.

Bigger rebuild job than he expected? The best players on his teams are players he inherited, and he ran one of them off after last year.

I'm honestly offended that he's calling what he's doing a "rebuild." Brown's teams would whoop Mills' teams.

Good god this dude is bad.

The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Only listened to about 1/2 of it but thought he was speaking about Baylor and ORU as big rebuild jobs.
I’ll need to try to listen to it again during a long run….. if I can find the link

So throwing the players under the bus for his inability to coach. Got it

The posters on TSF are buying it. It's a Mills/dance team love fest. If the players would just do what Mills tells them to do we'd have a winning record.

Lmao, so how many shooters did we recruit, after having this SAME ISSUE LAST YEAR, when teams realized all they had to do was pack the paint?

What a freaking joke honestly. He stacked this team full of seniors, so in what possible world did he ever think this team was a rebuild?

Your account of what he said cannot be accurate. With Ballard on the court our opponents are the ones with the match-up problem, not the other way around!

If he really said that ...

Ballard rebounds 22.5% of the available defensive rebounds while he is on the floor.
Ballard is first in the league in block percentage.
He is second in the league in blocks per game.
His defensive box plus/minus is 17th in the league of all players (not just centers).

And then on the offense end ... oh forget it. I quit.

I was passively listening when I listened yesterday, for sure missed some stuff.

I don't really think he threw the players under the bus. MK asked him how they can play with Memphis but have issues against lower teams in the conference. My understanding of what he was saying was that he thought we match up pretty well against Memphis because they have bigs that play mostly inside, understands QB doesn't match up well with bigs that can stretch the floor, but he's good at doing too many other things to take him off the floor, and because of that our communication on defense and rotations/contests on shooters need to be better.

Okay, this is a much more sane take by Mills than what Dan said. I don't have to explode now.

                      • I didn’t think he really threw anyone under the bus, but saying that everyone has stretch 5s that we can’t defend is a problem we can’t overcome with our current personnel. The fact that we don’t have any mobile bigs (whether they are big 4s or 5s) is a recruiting problem he should have saw in his first year.

                        • Basically he's saying he sucks at his job without saying he sucks at his job.

                          Got it.

I’m sure he understands at some level that his job is safe too. Even if he was fired, those paychecks will keep coming. There is no better job than a fired sports coach. Keep the money coming.

                            • We don't need a freakin' stretch 5. Sheesh.

                              • No excuses please. The majority of teams we have played don't / didn't have better players. They have better coaching pure and simple.
