MVC Non-Conference Games

TCU manages only 31 points in a loss to Northwerstern. That's not a bad day. That's embarrassing.

Sounds about right for their ceiling. I can see them having a great year and grabbing a 3 seed or something those lines because they only have to play superior athletic competition a few times all year. They're efficient, they don't beat themselves, and they'll probably clean up against non-WSU Valley teams. Their non-conference schedule is also a masterpiece and should have them around the top 5 after NYE if they don't choke before then.

But I just can't see them winning more than 1 or 2 in the tournament when they start having to face long defenders and quick guards who can dribble drive on Gibbs and Wragge.

Creighton's offense looked unstoppable at times. They will win a lot of games.

Creighton's defense allowed Wisconsin to score 74 points. They will lose a few games.

Creighton, Wichita State, and probably Illinois State are good. UNI is the fourth best team until they prove otherwise. Drake, Indiana State, and Evansville are playing to stay out of Thursday, although all three will play a role in who wins the conference.

UNI leading Memphis 14-12 w/11 minutes left in the half. Panthers really need to take this one to salvage the trip.

Good grief UNI has one brutal non-conference slate. Their remaining games:

vs. Northern Colorado
@ George Mason
vs. Iowa (neutral court)
@ UNLV
vs. St. Mary's

All that after facing Lousville, Stanford and Memphis already. At least SoS won't be a concern for them, wow.

If they can win a few of those games it sets them up well if they do make a run in MVC play and it helps the rest of us as well
