It looks like Creighton and VCU will probably be our only chances for signature wins this season. Although a win at Tennessee certainly doesn't look bad on anyone's resume. VCU is only 4-3, but they have played a tough schedule so far and I expect there is a very good chance they will be considered a quality win by the end of the season.

Eh, don't write Iowa off yet. A road loss at Va Tech hardly dooms a B1G team from hitting the top 50 this year. That's arguably the best conference in college hoops and a .500 league record would make them a "quality" win for us.

And Tennessee has a chance to get ranked if they win @ UVA and @ Georgetown before we hit Knoxville.

I believe it's going to be on the channel about 1/3 of the metro area and state have and can watch from. Makes sense, doesn't it?

I guess it's nice for a company to take an interest in local sports and give us a chance to get on tv to reach more homes, just wish our athletic department could levy our past success into better tv deals down the road.

The Mike Cohen teams of the 90s had a better TV deal. All of the home games were shown on the Shocker channel and nearly all of the road games were shown on KAKE TV channel 10. Mike Cohen even had a weekly TV show on Channel 10.

It is hard to believe that a Shocker team that got a 5 seed last year has a local TV deal that is worse than the Cohen years (the Valley has a better TV deal now, so there are more games on national TV, but the local TV deal is worse now).

VCU fan here. Rams currently #15 in the Pomeroy ratings right now. That's tops in the A10 and 19 spots ahead of Wichita State, so I'd say definitely a good win for WSU even now (Rams got votes in the latest polls even at 3-3). VCU's three losses to are teams with a combined 19-1 record, two of which are ranked (Duke, Mizzou)...the other should be (you guys).
