Too bad Mr. Stutz is out of eligibility because he had his way with Iowa last time. Also, when was the last time we played a Big 12 team? Was it when folk from the Big 12 thought we would be lucky to be in the middle of the road in that League? But wait, then we played Nebraska? My memory is not what it was, but I think we did okay? Next thing we know, the Cornhuskers bailed out of that Conference. Tsk, tsk tsk.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

VCU is almost certainly our best OOC opponent this year.

That said...Iowa could be pretty good. They're picked 7th out of 12 in The Big 10 and have a good shot at being top 50/bubble quality. Meeting them in Cancun would be a night and day difference for our SoS compared to facing up with WKU.

Southern Miss is another team with a shot at sneaking into the top 50, although I give them a less than 25% chance at it. They did beat Georgia on the road yesterday in OT to follow up their OT win against WKU to begin the season. That same UGA team got trounced by Youngstown State, however, and appears to suck pretty hard.

As discussed above, hopefully today was an aberration for the Vols that only happens one more time this year...December 13 in Knoxville. We need them to have a good year, whether we win or lose that game.

OMG That is one of the worst formats ever. I have seen them before but I thought it was because it was a small school.

DePaul apparently fixed whatever went disastrously wrong against Gardner-Webb.

              DePaul 70,
              Austin Peay 36

16 minutes left in the game (!).

Gardner-Webb is putting it to Iowa tonight, 38-24 w/17 minutes left.

                    Go figure.

Iowa's now doing their part up 60-54 with 2:00 to go. Doesn't look like Tulsa will pull their's out down 76-64 with 3:30 left.

Tennessee rebounds from a lackluster showing against Oklahoma State by putting it to UMass in the 3rd place game in Puerto Rico.

Currently leading by 10 w/3 minutes to go.

There was some griping about the Vols a few days on here but I suspect they will be fine. They are picked 4th in an improved SEC, and they will have more opportunities than we can dream of to snag quality wins once conference play rolls around. I am confident they will wind up as an opportunity for a top 50 win for us.

Southern Miss leading a decent UC Irvine team 31-30 at the half on a neutral court.

USM plays about a bijillion non-con games on the road or neutral courts. Their RPI should be pretty rock solid if they can keep racking up the W's.
