The NCAAA could be like a large conference with smaller regional conferences inside. NCAAA media profits could go towards training facility stipends all the way up to conference charter planes leased out at cost to member schools.

Sounds a tiny bit communistic, but this model would leave the competition to the coaching staff hires, the educational prowess of the school, the fanbase support, and other non-specific college quality-of-life experiences.

You know... like HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE.............

So I've solved the issue with college athletics. Who wants to march down Main St. with me?

And as far as the legal rulings go.. I'll address that in another part of the forum.
Profits = income - expenses. Payroll is an expense.
    Sorry to bust you bubble.
Plus NIL would just be done direct outside of the institutions.

    • UAB becomes 1st Division I football team to join players association
The UAB football team became the first in Division I to sign on with Athletes.org, a budding players' association.

      Dan Murphy, ESPN Staff Writer
      Apr 29, 2024, 11:42 AM ET

"UAB football players say their entire roster has signed up for Athletes.org, making them the first Division I football team to publicly join the players' association. They were introduced to the group by an unexpected source: their head coach. Trent Dilfer gathered his team for a voluntary meeting in mid-April to encourage them to prepare for a future when college athletes might be able to negotiate for a larger share of their sport's revenue...."

The rest of college student-athletes will not be far behind this move.

        • NCAA could pay more than $2.7B to settle NIL suits, sources say
The NCAA's national office might be footing the bill for a settlement expected to be more than $2.7 billion in the landmark House v. NCAA antitrust lawsuit in hopes of reshaping and stabilizing the college sports industry, sources told ESPN.

"The NCAA's national office might be footing the bill for a settlement expected to be more than $2.7 billion in the landmark House v. NCAA antitrust lawsuit in hopes of reshaping and stabilizing the college sports industry, according to multiple sources. Sources told ESPN this week that parties have proposed the NCAA's national office -- rather than its individual member schools or conferences -- would pay for the settlement of past damages over a period of 10 years. The NCAA payments would be paid to former college athletes who say they were illegally prevented from making money by selling the rights to their name, image and likeness.

The settlement would come with a corresponding commitment from conferences and schools to share revenue with athletes moving forward, per sources. The settlement would establish a framework for power conferences to share revenue with their athletes in the future. Sources have told ESPN that schools are anticipating a ceiling of nearly $20 million per year for athlete revenue share moving forward. (That nearly $20 million number is a permissive cap derived from a formula based on each school's revenue, and schools could choose how much they want to spend.)..."

          • OK they talk about revenue sharing but is that in addition to monies from NIL and will those still be accorded to athletes on an individual basis or will NIL money go into the revenue sharing pot. Will revenue be mitigated by the off setting costs of the scholarship?

ABOUT CAMPUS INK AND THE NIL STORE
Backed by Mark Cuban, Campus Ink expanded into the Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) space in 2021 and launched the NIL Store, which serves as a merchandising solution for student-athletes and schools across the country. Yup! I'm 110% against anything resembling that.

But I'll buy lots of Wichita State merch that explicitly does NOT do what's described above.
