One play really stood out to me last night when they had an unguarded player drive from the elbow straight in for an uncontested dunk while QB and a couple others just backed off. DR doesn't know where his man is half the time. 10 assists and fourteen turnovers..........they were 18-11.

It’s a nice dream, but damn I find myself dreaming for something much smaller these days. Just to not fade completely irrelevancy and sadly enough we’re on the fast track for that.

With last nights effort in mind, hold out little hope against Charlotte on Sunday.
They may win a couple more games, Rice, Temple and Tulsa come to mind, but that's about it.
So you say baseball season starts today. I'm ready for it.
That is all.
Above all, make the right call.

How have you not felt EVERY one???? To me the microcosm of the season is the first 20 seconds of the FAU overtime...outhustled for a layup, then the LAZIEST pass ever....down 4 in 20 seconds...
This team has to grind 1000% of the time....and the coaches have to grind 1000% of the time.....and they don't ...
You'll hate this...the Shockers were better with IB.......

The players are an extension of the coach. I've not coached D1 basketball, but I'm a parent, I've been a leader, and I've been a coach at other levels (and some would say that coaching even younger student athletes is even more challenging). You lead by example and the energy that you bring. You have to have expectations that things will be done. There is accountability. Not seeing it at the present.

IB was a good recruiter, and maybe a good 3rd assistant but he should have never been promoted to HC. That's whey we are where we are now. I actually like the offense we run now, we just have horrible players. Some of them could be hidden on more talented teams but many of them should be playing at a lower level. 3G would never put up with the type of boneheaded plays our guys exhibited last night. You can't really shake up the lineup because the next guys down are just as bad or worse (I'm leaving Joy out of this until proven otherwise).
Way too much dribbling to suit my fancy

Mills might be able to fix the recruiting part. Nothing in his history suggests he will fix the defense part. So lets hope he can knock it out of the park in recruiting.

Any of Isaac Brown's teams would beat this team at least 8 times out of 10.
I have said this before, but every passing week I feel like it's more and more true.
I agree that Isaac Brown did not look like the guy, but in retrospect it was a huge mistake to not give him one more season. Maybe he turns it around and the team greatly improves? Probably not.
But it would have been a hell of a lot cheaper to fire him after this season than it was to fire him after last. And maybe we could have gotten a coach that didn't ride the tails of one all-time lottery ticket recruit.
I think even the most ardent Isaac Brown haters were a little surprised when he was let go last offseason. Most - if not all - of those people probably thought that meant we had a home run lined up. Sike.
I don't even buy that Mills is a better coach than Brown. A good coach knows how to take what he's got and do something with them. If these players are incapable of running Mills' schemes, Mills needs to draw up different schemes that suit these players.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

The problem is ... at least so far ... his recruiting is drastically worse ...and his ability to coach defense is also way worse. All of those coaching/recruiting flaws has resulted in the worst Shocker product on the floor in decades.
