We all know that, so I imagine other teams do as well

Lol - may be. On a side note...and it's been said before by others so no new news here...but Photo is just gawd-awful slow and unaththletic. Particularly at this level of play. I think he's trying his best but man...slow and weak. It pains be to ever see a Shocker player overmatched when playing teams in the Top-100. Hoping he can do something about that but doesn't look like it's in his DNA.

Slow doesn't mean they have to be unproductive. There are plenty of examples of slow big men that can be dominate. Think about the UNI center from like 15-16, or the Loyola Center from their final four run. They were both slow big men. But they were put in a position that made them successful. They were both used to run the offense through. Not from a scoring standpoint, but from a distribution standpoint. That's what we did at the end of last year with Pohto and it worked. Right now, if Kenny (or Ballard) get the ball low, the other team knows they are just going to try to force i, so they just pull someone else over to make it tougher. There is no movement by any other players to try to get in position for a kick out or a cut or anything. The offensive gameplan is just get a matchup, and clear out so that player can ISO. That is NOT Kennys game.

Seth Tuttle and Krutwig both had great back to the basket games. They could both guard the post. Pohto only does well when he is playing against smaller unathletic players. Reminds me of Udeze.

Agreed, but IMO one of the reasons they had a good back to the basket game is because teams were afraid to double down on them because they were so good at kicking it to open shooters. Maybe its a chicken or egg thing there though

            • Both of those guys were MVC player of the year, and All Americans. Tuttle was a top 10 finalist for player of the year. I don't dislike Pohto or anything but there is no way he compares to those 2 guys no matter who is taking shots from outside.

Don't disagree at all .. but they were also considered "slow and unathletic" which is what I was responding to. Posts can be productive even if they are "slow and unathletic"

                  • Was at the game. K State fans are generally not very knowledgeable in basketball based on the games I've viewed against them the past 3 years.

Jury is still out on Mills for me. I'm trying to be patient with a new coach, just getting some players in games, and he's only 12 games in. However, our offense doesn't seem to have progressed at all from what I can tell, and as others have said, there is too much iso ball for players that arent skilled enough to do that against top 100 teams. This team cant shoot or dribble well enough to not run more of a fluid offensive system. Our lazy ass passes and atomic bombs have to stop.

The rebounding last night was upsetting. Way too many guys standing around and not putting an ass on somebody. Our guys played fairly hard in general, but thats not good enough at this level.

I'm expecting a 20 point ass beating next week.

                    • KP must shoot lights out in practice. All we have heard for 2 years is how good of shooter he is.

At this point, he is apparently a "practice player" as opposed to a "game player" I am quickly loosing confidence that he will ever have the
mental makup to consistently play well when the lights come on.

Agreed. The guy is a career 23% 3 point shooter. Quit shooting damn 3 pointers. Completely head scratching he is allowed to keep shooting those when they are essentially turnovers.

                        • While I agree the offense is not very good. On the other hand, it is really hard to run an offense that involves anything more that driving to the basket when only one player on the team can make an outside shot.

The sad thing is that goes for the vast majority of other players we’ve had too. So many times we’ve had “great shooters” that I stop believing it now.

Question - does Tang and Baylor teams also have a similar offense system? It seemed like it when I watched the game last night so didn’t know.

                            • Watching the shoot around before the second half, I was alarmed about the amount of missed shots. If they can't make unguarded shots how do they expect to make them in live games?

                              • our offense is limited to the personnel we have. This team is not going to do anything post season. It's just a warmup for the Mills staff to see what we have and what we need. Clearly we need a legit PG (maybe the Cortes) and we need guys that can make 3 point baskets consistently.
