Here are some additional details about the player turnover, including Kadeem Coleby, at Ulala:

Here is an article on the player Ulala apparently tried to get to replace Kadeem Coleby, but that has not worked out (possibly to Ulala's benefit).

Boy things at Winthrop have certainly changed since 3G was in charge there.

I can understand why the Ulala coach would be miffed with one of his key players only giving him a month before the fall semester started to try to find a replacement. However, if he had given him his release Kadeem may have gone to a school who had a scholarship available. Not getting the release may have put him in play for the Shocks. My guess is he has been promised a scholarship for next year assuming he makes his grades (but that is a GUESS!).

Can somebody Photoshop this new guy onto Kai's picture opposite Lufile with Wiggins and and Cle in the middle? All I'll need then is a moist towel and seclusion until the first tip-off.

I'm sorry, did I go to far?

Kadeem and Earl will be welcomed additions with Carl and EO graduating.

I kind of assumed that would be the case, but I do not see that in the article.

From the article: "Coleby, because Louisiana-Lafayette did not release him, could not talk to coaches while searching for a new school and must pay his own tuition. He will receive a scholarship in 2013-14."

I read the same thing in the article (i.e. "He will receive a scholarship in 2013-14.")

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

I kept re-reading the wrong article, sorry. That would be 4 sorta-kinda committs for next year then, right?

I count 4 as well. Coleby is already enrolled but won't go on scholarship until next season. Watson signed during his senior year in high school even though he knew he would not qualify and would have to graduate from JUCO. He signed again during his freshman year so that he could keep in contact with the staff legally. Rian H has verballed and plans to sign in the fall. I imagine all three of these guys will be on the team next year. Teddy Hawkins, if he gets his academics straightened out, plans to sign with the Shockers again.

Had a chance to meet Kadeem this past weekend. Pretty shy guy but probably because of just arriving in Wichita. He seemed pretty excited though. Also had a chance to talk to Coach Heiar about Earl. He really got me pumped. He could hardly contain his enthusiasm about his athletic abilities.
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

Coach Heiar has a tendency to elicit such a response.
