If we’re not extremely careful Lipscomb is gonna jump us and we’ll never recover. Even if we do play a good game they still may be better. This is a good and well coached team.
Brummett throws, STRUCK HIM OUT! THE SHOCKERS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! AN UNBELIEVABLE STORY!

Got this in an email today from a local casino in Tulsa. Thought it was interesting and timely.

        Lipscomb : 4 Juniors and 5 Seniors
Their first game of the season, no exhibition that I could find.
Size: Lots of midrange size guys 6-3 to 6-8. Center Ahsan Asadullah is a pretty decent passer and led the team in assists last year but only 36% from the free throw line.
History has not been on their side in true road games in the last 2 years, in fact their scheduling is really strange if you review it. They would often play back to back games against opponents.
36% 3 ball shooting as a team last season (not too shabby, and opponents love to get hot in Koch Arena)
        1.16 A/TO margin.

Hopefully the Shocks hit a few 3 balls to get a small lead early and build from there (would be nice to see a 3 ball threat/maker this season.) If the crowd can get active, maybe show the new Shockers what a rocking Koch can be.
I think WSU will possibly be favored in this game by 9-10 points. My prediction: Shox by 11

          Shocker 77

          Bison 70

Heres the deal. Rogers leads us with 21 points. Ballard gets our first official double-double in our inside/out approach. Germany leads our bench with 10 points. We will outrebound Lipscomb by 11. Often the Shocks will run our offense through Kenny P. Who will lead us with 7 assists.

This win will make us undefeated against a dangerous team to not take lightly. What did the father say to his son that left home to play BB for the Bisons? Bye-son. The end.

Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

I just don't have a good feeling about this team yet. I think it will be a close game with Lipscombs' team maturity/experience playing together being the difference. I'll pick them 82-77 and enjoy the crow if I am wrong. Hoping for a Rogers / Beverly breakout to prove me wrong.

Guessing we'll be favored by 4.5 and lose by 4,5

I like the efforts to engage with WSU students. We need them badly I think. I am concerned we may have issues rebuilding the historic levels of alumni and non-student support post Covid. Winning big should take care of that I suppose but even that my not fully reinvigorate the aging fan base (of which I am a part).

Well, the NCAA is not helping build enthusiasm outside the P5

I would have stood in line for a WOMEN'S game back in the day if they were giving away Ziggy's Pizza.

Hats off to the long time supporters, in and out of administration, of WSU Athletics!

It's easy to blame the NCAA for this. but who knows where the responsibility and fault really lies without knowing a lot more details about this situation then we do.

But the way this unfolded and was dragged out I am not surprised this is the outcome. Just hope Bijan can regain his eligibility at the end of the fall semester.

Not happy for the moment, but if we could have him back before KC games, that’d be at least somewhat tolerable.

Based on what we know (which admittedly, isn't much), this seems like a failure on OU's part to make sure he was on track. And Bijan himself.

I have to hope WSU did what they could in the summer to get him the classes he needed, but maybe he was so far off track that summer wasn't enough.

Chances are it wasn't WSU who let him down, although I unwilling to absolve Bijan of any personal responsibility either. Not sure when OU knew that Bijan would not be returning, but at whatever point that was, they would have little incentive to push him to make his grades. OTOH, WSU had all the incentive in the world to get Bijan eligible so is is unlikely they weren't pushing and helping Bijan all they could.
