Other than the two things I just stated, I think Wichita has way more upside than Omaha. Is it because I was born here? Probably. Is it because the Creighton fans I have met are arrogant jacka$$es? Yep. I'm sure that has something to do with it as well.Once a Shocker, Always a Shocker-- RIP Guy Alang-Ntang

Probably similar to the abuse opposing Outfielders take from drunk people on the hill during baseball games at Eck. :good:"You can observe a lot just by watching."

DJShocker-
I assume you are talking about the Old Market in Omaha. They also have casinos, which Wichita will never have (having casinos in Wellington does not count). The Qwest Center is actually hosting the first two rounds of the NCAA tourney, which Wichita will never see because of the capacity of Intrust Arena. Omaha has had concerts like Paul McCartney and Elton John that would never come here. The list goes on and on. The big negative to Omaha is the endless non-sense coverage of Husker football.

The good, and the thing visting teams hate about Koch Arena, is the fans are not on top of the visiting team.I can only imagine what kind of abuse the visiting team takes from fans.

YOURE FROM OMAHA!
-significantly nicer malls ...you could put both of our "malls" together and it would still be worse
-arena already built few yrs back
-AAA baseball
-Dave N Busters
-Nearby Casinos
-Indoor/outdoor water parks
-IMAX in the city
-More big name concerts
-Nebraska Furniture Mart
-much more nightlife
-In 2008 Omaha will host Olympic swimming, March Madness, NCAA Championships and PGA golf
-D1 Football 45 min away
-over all bigger city
Im not saying I wanna move there... and im obviously not saying I wanna stay here...but there is just much more to do and it has much more to offer and obviously isn't a place living in the past. Omaha is a city in progress not regression.

Nicer malls is a top criteria for you? Most of Wichita's best retail isn't in Malls. It's at Bradley Fair and the Waterfront. Those are good as anything in Omaha.
Are you serious about Dave and Buster's as a plus? It has bad bar food and an arcade. WOW!!
Nebraska Furniture Mart???
More nightlife? What is your basis for this?
It is not much larger than Wichita. I'd put them in the same ballpark.

In my opinion, any city is better than Wichita. I'm tired of all the damn construction we have in this city, I'm tired of waiting 20 years for kellogg to be done. We will NEVER get the sports arena built, and even after we do, it will be an absolute joke. We'll never get any good sporting events in Wichita, I'll be surprised if this city ever hosts any NCAA tournament games again. Not saying Omaha is better, never been there, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was a lot better than Wichita.

Anything entertaining is a top priority for me and im sure for a lot of people. Wichita knows nothing except sitting at home in front of the TV and WSU sports.
Have you been to Crossroads or Westroads in Omaha? Those are REAL malls that aren't ugly inside without things to do. Simon treats our malls like the rejects they are. No restaurants, no theatres, no arcades, Guess, Bebe, Armani. Nice malls are meant as places to go and hang out and get OUTSIDE of the house... our malls are cheap and worthless for anything but shopping.
Bradley Fair and Waterfront? What retail does Waterfront have? New Balance shoes? Bradley Fair has some nice shops nearly all geared towards older people. So what does it offer for my 21 yr old fiance and I? That's usually where the malls come in but not here. We get the token A&F and American Eagle. She can find here Guess and Bebe stuff at Platos Closet right?
I completely disagree with your take on D&B. Once again, it's something to do and I enjoy the place. Never had the food but it's entertaining.
I guess having one of the largest if not the largest Furniture Marts in the nation isn't a plus? People from Wichita would love the place... more furniture for the house they never come out of.
I like how you conveniently ignored some other's... i'll repeat..
-AAA baseball
Oops... AA baseball is gone. Wingnuts are here to save the day!
- Casinos
Awww... we don't want them anyways right? We are too good for casinos!
- Water Parks
Ooops... we lost that too. Oh well... we can all go down to Derby to the little way overcrowded mini-park.
- Arena
Well it's coming...... only about 5-8 yrs later than everyone else. We nearly tried to vote this down too. Maybe if we get lucky the city won't screw it up too.
- Nightlife
I ask you... where is our nightlife at? I guess we do have the stinky rodeo place out east right?
And believe me I will be moving and soon it's just not as simple as get up and leave. I wish it was though. Hopefully in 2-3 years I will be rid of this place and won't have to concern myself with it anymore except keeping up on WSU sports and family.

wxkid, well said my friend. If I could (and I have considered it), I'd pack up and move to Seattle right now. Unfortunately I can't because I don't have the money, and I am in a good position with my job right now. Chances are, I'll never get to move, but I can still ***** and complain about this city all I want, at least until our city management pulls their heads out and makes it a better place to live
